“Lovely little castle”
Reviewed June 12, 2013

I went here with a friend and both our families! It was a lovely afternoon. Lots of space for children to run around in the grounds and a playpark. The banquet room was as great. It could use a few more display boards with some history maybe. Lovely day out and good views.

“Cider festival”
Reviewed May 27, 2013 via mobile

Myself and hubby went to the cider festival, only 5 pounds entry, free drinking glass and bought tokens for cider. There were lots of different ciders to try which were yummy and also brought some home. Also really good bands and loads of craft and food stalls and a medieval fight reenactment, very enjoyable day and lovely weather, will definitely go to future events held here.

“Plantagenet Medieval Society Event”
Reviewed May 12, 2013

Very comprehensive event at Caldicot Castle. It would have been better if the longbow's had sharp ends for older children. Our children enjoyed trying all the weapons. The dancing was better than we thought it would be. The Tourney felt very real and at times scary. Very enjoyable day

Lovely old castle in large grounds, very atmospheric. Worth a short visit if you are in the area. Guided tours are available.

“Lovely Caldicot Castle”
Reviewed May 7, 2013

We came to Caldicot Castle as part of a school trip and I was really surprised at how lovely it was. Caldicot Castle is easy to get to being just off the motor, outside Chepstow. It has free parking and is free to get into (a suggested donation of just £3). There is a cafe there and the grounds are lovely for a picnic. The castle itself isn't massive (don't imagine Caernarvon Castle or the Tower of London) but that doesn't detract from it being a lovely day, particularly if the weather is good. The grounds are well kept and the guides are generally good. Well worth a day out.

PS: There is a pub next door which looks good
