“best mussels for a long time...!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 23, 2013

We have had a wonderful week in Porthgain with excellent weather, great accommodation at Watch House and this excellent bistro. We had lunch the first sunday there with beautiful crab and the best soft succulent mussels, a must to try for everyone.
The week was signed off by a fish and chip dinner, but could not resist king prawns and although we were fit to bursting had dessert as well, good walnut tart and apple tart, not eaten that amount for a long time, so well worth the effort.
Friendly genuine helpful staff, would eat there every visit, worth trying the a la carte as it has some excellent well priced options. This made the holiday.

“We were not disappointed!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 20, 2013

We had wanted to visit the Shed for some time, and finding ourselves in Pembrokeshire for a few days, we had a opportunity to go for lunch recently. We had to sit upstairs as we had not booked but that was ok. The service was quick, the young waiter was very pleasant and we thoroughly enjoyed our starter of king prawns in garlic butter, followed by hake and chips. The hake was a revelation to my husband who would normally play safe and go for cod or haddock - he can't stop talking about it! Porthgain itself was a delight and as it was a beautiful day, we enjoyed having a leisurely walk along part of the coast path after lunch. We will definitely be back.

“Lunch”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 15, 2013

Stopped for a bite of lunch a few days ago. Two of us had mackerel pate, which was great. One had a crab sandwich which had quite a few sizeable pieces of shell in it which was a bit disappointing. Nice surroundings and very pleasant young man serving. I would like to return and try again one day. I saw some fish and chips which looked amazing.

“our favourite”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 12, 2013

this is our favourite restaurant/ cafe in Pembrokeshire. The food ranges from special fish dishes, to special fish and chips, to fantastic chocolate brownies, coffee, hot toddy in the winter, beutiful wine. All set in a cosy shed complete with wood burning stove, nestled on theedge of Porthgain harbour. A magnificent place in itself. So if you're having a walk to a beach along the coast path you can end it with a meal or a hot drink and something yummy. Oh I forgot, they do the best crab sandwiches, cream teas, they sell locally caught fish, show local artwork on their walls and are super friendly and professional. Even making sure they have lime in stock if you request it in your G&T!

“Fish by the harbour”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 3, 2013

Great little bistro with fantastic service. We planned on visiting this place as part of our West Wales trip and we weren't disappointed. All tables were booked and the atmosphere was great. Upon arriving we were seated and although it was a little cold it was still very pleasant. The menu was explained in detail and the waiter recommended several dishes for that days catch. The quality of the food is very good and I would have no problem recommending this place to anyone. The scallops starter was spot on.
