We turned up at the Sloop on a midweek lunchtime, February, blowing a gale and with freezing temperatures. The first thing that hit me as I walked in was the smell of a wood fire! Out of the wind it was amazingly cozy and warm. The bar was snug and dark, wood all around and traditional scrubbed wood tables. The menu had a good range and most of it sourced locally and in season, prices were reasonable. We both ended up with the Fish Pie which was well stocked with white fish, salmon and prawns. The taste was very good with a nice creamy sauce. the only thing missing was a couple of mussels whcih would have set it off perfectly. This was a great find (we'd not eaten there before, usually going down to 'The Shed' on the harbour). I think this will be our venue next time.
