Description: The Kennebec River Pub & Brewery is our full-service restaurant at The Forks Resort Center. The pub shares space in our grand, open-timbered main lodge with our Kennebec River Brewery, home to several fine handcrafted ales and lagers. The brewery is also on the Maine Beer Trail. We utilize fresh, local foods to the fullest in our hearty breakfast, lunch, and dinner dishes. We serve delightful pub fare with a mouthwatering selection of jumbo burgers, our famous beer battered onion rings, and Northern Nacho's - a heaping stack of tortilla chips with a melted blend of Monterey Jack & Cheddar cheeses, jalapenos, black olives, onions & tomatoes. And nothing compliments pub fare any better than a fresh, handcrafted beer from our Kennebec River Brewery!

The building itself is pretty impressive with a great feel and atmosphere. The beer was good... But I ordered the fish n chips and it was horrible! Pretty much 1 step above Gordons Fish sticks.

So beer, yes... atmosphere yes.. food NO

Food was excellent, menu is alittle limited but what you get is very savory! Nice assortment of beers. A little pricey but worth the cost. Wait staff are friendly

Good--the wait staff is both friendly and competent and the atmosphere was pleasing
Not so good--the burger was large but tasteless, while the onion rings were good but not great.

We were returning from Canada with our kids and this looked like a nice restaurant pub in the middle of nowhere (other options off season were thin). Being a breewery pub it definitely leaned more towards a bar atmosphere with 10+ tvs on multiple walls (which distracts all of us) and multiple bars. We asked the waitress her recommendation, she said burgers were "great", so my wife and got them. They were ordinary and had a side of fries @ $12.

The kids meal, in my opinion, was dissapointing. They offered an entree (Mac and cheese, pasta noodles, hotdog, grilled cheese, chicken fingers, etc) plus a drink (milk or soda) and a scoop of ice cream for $8.99. My issue with grouping it this way is we don't offer our kids dessert or soda with lunch. The server said I could substitute with water...with a straight face (kudos for that). The kids entrees (Mac and cheese and pasta) was an adult pile (which costs them approx $1) and my kids left more than half of it. I hate wasting food and I really hate paying for something we didn't want. Another oddity was that I asked for a small beer to sample their beer...they only sold 16oz!

So, if you want to catch the game (and NASCAR, Weather Channel, etc) on multiple screens and hammer some 16 oz drafts in the middle of nowhere....this is a solid choice.

This pub has everything you would expect in the great north woods of Maine. Decent food but not great, good beer, not much of a wine selection, and lots of antlers. The huge fireplace is quite nice.
