The food at Deedars is consistently of a high standard
The decor could do with a revamp but if you want a no frills authentic curry visit here
Tandoori Prawns are brilliant and a well presented meal
We visit here regularly and are always given a warm friendly welcome
It feels special to be treated so well
Hope the business can cope with Weatherspoons opening next door - offering bland generic curries
Quality over cheap quantity is what we appreciate
Keep up the good work Mr Mohammed
See you Xmas day

We have been customers for several years and have never had a poor meal . Service is always friendly and efficient . Poppadom s and dips are free and arrive as soon as you sit down . Good range of starters and main meals with meat of very high quality . Drinks are well priced and we always get a complimentary drink at end of meal . Could not praise more highly - well worth a visit .

We have been visiting this restaurant for almost 10 years and during this time it has always been owned and managed by the same person. The manager is welcoming and friendly to his customers.
The food is brilliant. Having eaten at Indian restaurants up and down the country, this restaurant compares well to the best of them.
The food combines excellent taste with good portion size. This applies to your typical curry dish (vindaloo, rogon josh, bhuna etc) and also the tandoori dishes such as the lamb tikka shashlik.
The level of spiciness is about right in my opinion. No surprises in terms of mild dishes being hotter than expected or vice versa.
The rice dishes are excellent, and I was very impressed with the tikka rice I tried for the first time. The amount of chicken tikka in the rice was very generous and was excellent value for money.
The poppadoms and pickles are placed on the table at the start and it appears that they are complimentary, as I have never been charged for them.
Service can be a bit slow if you are in a large party (we often go in a party of 10), but this is quite usual in my experience. The food always arrives hot and it's nice to see the use of the metal dish warmers to keep the food hot after being placed on the table.

I have tried the Sunday buffet on many occasions and can't understand why anyone could complain about the quality and value. The selection is reasonable with a choice of soup, onion bhaji, tandoori chicken or chicken tikka for starters. You are always asked by the waiter if you would like chips, as they will make them fresh for you. There are normally 5 or 6 rich, flavoursome curry dishes available and two rice dishes (normally plain and mushroom pilau). The dishes are kept hot in an efficient food-warmer and are always steaming when served.
I am not quite sure how someone can complain about the amount of meat on your plate at a buffet? You can pile it as high as your plate allows!
If there have been any issues (and these have been very few over the years), the manager is happy to deal with them promptly with no questions and always tries to ensure his customers are happy. My wife mistakenly received a lamb shashlik on our last visit, instead of chicken, and this was replaced without any questions within 5 minutes.

Give this restaurant a try, I'm sure you will be a repeat customer for many years to come, just like we are.

3 course business lunch @ £6.95 value cannot be bettered. Draught Kingfisher lager. No frills, flowers, candles etc. but pleased they are still using the steel food warmers. As always, good food at sensible prices (should you order from main menu or you come in the evening). Owner is friendly and fair, often giving you free extra’s which you won’t know about until you check & pay the bill. Yes, he does shout but usually within the kitchen, which unfortunately, can be heard in the restaurant. A bit of an old fashioned place, with no pleasant outlook and hidden down a side street. (Parsons Street off Waterloo Rd. close to the bus station.)

NB my photo's won't upload? Don't know why.

Please don't listen to bad reviews. Try this restaurant for high quality food with good portions too. Lamb is always very good. Some times the boss is a little mental but he is alright really, likes to make you welcome, and always wants to give you a good deal with free'be's. He does shout some times but not to mean offence. The reviews about the boss never having a complaint in 3 years he has owned it is not true, he has owned it since 1998! I have been going since it opened. Still go and will be back again.
