We loved the "feel" of the restaurant when we arrived but during the meal, it got loud. Voices carry! The service was very attentive, but we had arrived early so she wasn't busy with other tables. I don't know if the service would always be that good, but I suspect it would be.
The food got mixed reviews. One of the nice things was that rolls were delivered hot to our table shortly after arriving. We were told that the rolls were put into the oven as soon as we walked through the door. Delicious. We shared a bowl of French Onion soup...yum! Then we shared the pork schnitzel, which came with potato salad and a green salad. Two large pieces of schnitzel...plenty large enough for us to share and very tasty. However, we did not enjoy the two salads, both of which were drowned with vinegar (so much that it made me cough after bites). When we asked why the potato salad had so much vinegar, we were told that it was Austrian, not German. Interesting. The green salad had lettuce, vinegar and perhaps lemon. It was hard to tell because the juices of the two salads blended on the plate.
Even with its great ambiance and good service, it wasn't worth the price, which was one of the most expensive dinners we had in Vail (a place not known for its inexpensive dinners!).
