This is a fun and challenging course. The elevation changes from hole to hole are impressive. The fairways vary from narrow to more open and are in great shape. The greens are soft and quick. Reading the greens is challenging. The staff are friendly and efficient. Prices after Labor Day make this course a good deal.

The Vail area has had some nice rains this year and the golf courses are all very plush. There are two "public" golf courses near Vail - Vail GC and the Eagle-Vail GC.
The Vail GC is flatter and can be walked. The Eagle-Vail course has much more elevation changes and a cart is required. The course has many interesting holes and a signature par-3 hole where you hit from the mountain down to the green.
Green speeds were average, but rolling very true. There are special rates for those living in the Valley or in Eagle-Vail. Also, there is a 10 hole rate which allows you to play the mountain-drop Par 3 hole. Very enjoyable course for a public course.

Course is in excellent condition with a beautiful mountain setting. It is target golf at its best with woods, streams and lush vegetation to keep you focused. Bring enough golf balls and a camera. It's a memorable experience...with one exception, the restaurant. Expect very mediocre food and service. Too bad it doesn't meet the quality level of the golf course. Eagle-Vail is a challenge, but a great experience overall. Recommended.

We always play Eagle Vail when we visit Vail. It has always been well kept and is a challenging course. Several holes have impressive altitude changes. Rental clubs were not great.

Holes 1 thru 8 are legitimate golf holes, great course. Then they ran out of real estate. Starting on #9 the course becomes a joke. One if the outside service guys said Jack Nicklaus walked off the course at 9.
