“Old and New Mexican cuisine”
Reviewed August 1, 2014

Within the Westin Riverfront, the view and atmosphere are really special, almost an island resort atmosphere.
My youngest son and I stopped by during their happy hour, and enjoyed $2, old style Mexican tacos, along with a very cold beer. The menu has varied choices for all ages, and the bar area is really a great place to relax.
Beautiful mountains right outside with plenty of outdoor seating, but the view from inside windows is just as nice.
Price is reasonable for being inside the Westin, along with a Sunday buffet and an afternoon happy hour that is hard to beat.

“Just Okay”
Reviewed August 1, 2014 via mobile

Great atmosphere, beautiful mountain views and a menu that's looks great... All the ingredients for a fabulous restaurant are here. But if falls short. Unremarkable food, servers that do their best but are under trained, high prices and small portions are what you get. This place could be awesome but no one really goes out of their way to make it so. Not the hosts, not the servers or the bartenders. Bummer

“New twist on Mexican”
Reviewed July 30, 2014

A very interesting and very good Mexican Tapas Brunch and a very reasonable price. Great food with plenty of options and excellent drinks to accompany the meal all on an all you can consume basis. Mexican Eggs Benedict, steak and eggs, tacos of several varieties, ceviche, french toast, chocolate waffles etc. Bloody Mary's, champagne, mimosas etc. As stated, you can eat until your hearts content and your stomach is ready to explode and its all good. The only thing keeping this from an Excellent rating is the service which seemed off the day we were there from the hostess to the servers.

“Excellent option for Sunday brunch”
Reviewed July 27, 2014

Maya, modern mexican kitchen & tequileria, inside the Westin Hotel in Avon, CO offers a nice take on Sunday brunch. Instead of a fixed price buffet, you get a long list of all you can eat small plates for $20 per person, $35 pp with unlimited cocktails. There are a few kinds of guacamole which are priced separately. The small plates are good sizes and can easily be shared around the table. A few of the delicious plates were Breakfast Pizza, Steak & Eggs, Chicken Tamal, Smoked Brisket Tacos and desserts of Pan Dulce and Mexican Chocolate Waffles. The Chorizo & Cheese Grits would have been better if the chorizo was chopped and added to the grits instead of chopped so fine it seemed grated. Not enough chorizo flavor. Patio dining is available looking up to the ski runs at Beaver Creek. Maya's original brunch was buffet style. This is a better way. Kristi, our server, brought out the dishes as we requested them, some at the same time, some afterwards. Highly recommend the brunch.

“Good but Expensive Mexican Food”
Reviewed July 27, 2014

My wife and i ate at Maya last night, we were pleased but not overwhelmed.$95 for 2 with 3 cocktails seemed high. Chips that tasted like they were a higher end packaged bag was disappointing as was the table salsa, thought it was from a jar. The meal peaked at the appetizer, we ordered Mexican Corn, but it was $6 / ear. Taco's were just OK, Poblano sauce very good, and Carnitas was delicious but not what we were expecting, which was more traditional. Their Jalapeno Cream was excellent. Glad to have tried it, wouldn't return unless they had great happy hour prices
No complaints, Little to rave about.
