“Accomidations were wonderful, skiiing was perfect.”
Reviewed March 2, 2010

The Park Hyatt staff was very accommodating, and the grounds were perfect. We felt as though we were in the center of just about everything we needed. Our room was nice and quiet, they even gave us a humidifier for the dry air of Colorado! In regards to the coffee maker (since it's a popular item)... we called down to the front desk and simply asked for a coffee maker for our room. It came free of charge, refilled every morning and was ours for the week.
We skied every day, and the Hyatt make it a PLEASURE for us to literally ski in and out of the hotel. We did not eat at any of the hotel restaurants, there are enough in the area that are great that we just ventured out each night. We did however go to McCoys during lunch time while hitting the slopes and it was just as any cafe style lodge around, which was perfect for our wallets.
We loved Beaver Creek, visited the Ritz and it just didn't have as much to offer as the Hyatt did in our opinion. Also, if you would like to go into Vail, take the Green Turtle shuttle by the covered bridge in Beaver Village... don't waste $40 on a taxi!

You can't beat the Hyatt Beaver Creek for ski convenience and amenities. The location is great, with ski in/out access and convenient ski storage and valet service. The restaurant in the hotel, 8100, is quite good, too. The only criticism is that there are not coffee makers in the room, but we heard a rumor from another guest that one would be provided upon request. If you object to paying $20 for two cups of coffee and a couple pastries, avoid the food shop on the main level of the hotel. It's convenient, but you'll pay the price. The fitness center is excellent, as is the spa (but pricey!) Beware: if you're thinking of skiing in Vail as well as Beaver Creek, the free shuttle service between the two areas was stopped as of this season. Taxi rides to Vail are $50!! But there's something called the Turtle Bus that runs between towns for $5/person. Make sure you get the schedule. The last pick up in Vail is at 5 p.m., so dinner in Vail with a return to Beaver Creek is out, unless you want to tack on the extra taxi fee.

Boys weekend skiing at Beavercreek and Vail. The four of us were excited to get in some real skiing this year as we are midwestern locals. Last year two of us skied Vail and it was such an experience that we wanted to do it again. Bowls upon bowls, but that's a different review.

The Hyatt is an absolutely beautiful hotel with a fantastic staff. Location second to none. A truly ski in, ski out facility.

Upon arrival we were greeted by valet parking and bell staff. Our luggage was taken upstairs while our skis and boots were placed in it's own "ski valet" area. Quick to check in and off to our room. Rooms nicely decor with very comfortable bedding. Refrigerator in room, high speed wi-fi, safe, bathrobes and slippers, flat screen tv. The only item missing was a coffee maker but a call to the front desk solved that problem in just a few minutes.

Excellent fitness facility, pool and hot tubs. One hot tub has a water fall coming into it. Patio area has nice seating area and a couple of fire pits. All of this viewing the Beavercreek ski resort.

We did not eat at any of the on property facilities so I can not comment on them. The town has so many places to eat and visit, all within walking distance.

A quick call down to the ski valet will have your boots heated overnight and skis ready for you to pick up and walk out the door to the lifts. You change into boots right there and the hotel will keep your shoes for you. I have never seen anything like this before but let me tell you it is a great idea!

A quick call down to the valet had our car out front and warm by the time we came down stairs. Any staff member I had contact with was very helpful and polite.

Unfortunately due to a snowstorm back home we had to cut our trip a day early and head home. When returning to this area I would definitely want to stay at the Hyatt again.

One last note, an earlier review mentioned no coffee in the lobby in the morning. We left at 6:15 am and there was regular, de-cafe, and hot water for tea.

We stayed at the Park Hyatt with about 40 of our closest family and friends for a wedding in Beaver Creek. Overall, the hotel was perfect...nice clean rooms, beautiful common areas for gathering, great views. There were a few details that made our stay a little less than comfortable. First, this hotel did not offer coffee in the lobby and did not have coffee makers in the rooms. One would think that any hotel of this caliber and price range would provide this courtesy to their guests. Secondly, the Cafe that appears on their website either no longer exists or was closed for the off season. I didn't see any evidence of it at the hotel. Guests had to search around The Village to try to locate coffee and/or a light breakfast in the mornings.

Upscale decor with beautiful slope side rooms. Romantic fireplace and balcony overlooking the main ski lift at Beaver Creek. Friendly staff with attention to detail.

Living in Denver, we've learned to take advantage of "off season" dates at mountain resorts such as the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek. We spent a long weekend in April when the resort was quiet, peaceful and relaxing. Ski season had already ended and the crowds were gone. Though some of the shops and restaurants in Beaver Creek were closed during this shoulder season, that just meant that we would have a very relaxing time away from crowds.

The staff at the Park Hyatt was very friendly and accommodating. Very professional and welcoming, addressing us by name whenever possible. The lobby is large -- done in classic Colorado mountain lodge style with lots of comfortable seating areas, a large fireplace and large picture windows that look out at the slopes.

Our room was quite comfortable. Average size, but it had everything we needed. Again, the rooms are decorated in a rustic, elegant, Colorado mountain lodge kind of way. The bedding was plush and comfortable. The bathroom wasn't especially large -- very average size. But nice and very functional.

The Allegria Spa was a highlight of our weekend, as we both indulged in spa treatments. The staff was very friendly, check in was quick, and we were both given quick personal tours of the spa's facilities. The Aqua Sanitas water sanctuary is a fairly recent addition to the spa -- it includes a co-ed mineral pool, and segregated locker rooms each with another hot soaking pool, steam room, rain shower and relaxation room. The relaxation room was especially nice, with soft music, magazines and heated loungers. But we found it odd that the Aqua Sanitas area is not connected to the spa's locker rooms. To use that area, you must first go to the locker room to change, then walk back through the public areas of the spa. After using the water sanctuary, you must now walk (wet) back through the public areas of the spa to get back to the locker rooms.

With treatment rooms that overlook the surrounding mountains and a first-rate staff that is highly skilled and very professional, the Allegria Spa is a great way to relax and indulge.

We ate breakfast at the hotel's restaurant twice. Our wait staff was unphased when we requested to share one large entree rather than ordering two separate meals. They even had the kitchen split it up on two plates before they brought it out. Their service was spot on -- very attentive to our needs when we needed refills, but without being pestering or hovering.

The outdoor hot tubs were a highlight of the trip. While it was too cold to use the swimming pool, there are several hot tubs -- one of which has a waterfall cascading out of the mountain, tumbling over some rocks and falling into the hot tub. A very relaxing way to spend a cool mountain evening. Several people can enjoy the hot tubs at once and still have privacy.
