“So disappointing!”
Reviewed March 16, 2014

I've previously written a positive review of Northside, but can't do the same now. A few months ago, we ate at the burger side of the restaurant known as "Benderz." It was very good, particularly the cottage fries. The service - if you can ordering and paying at the cashier and then getting your own order when called service - was surly. But we liked the food and the burgers are cheap.

But when we went back last week, we were sorely disappointed. The kitchen is woefully understaffed - the burger flipping cooks also double as cashiers and that means hassled people and screwed up orders.

The tables looked like they hadn't been bussed in hours. I had to clean our own spot and go hunting for full bottles of condiments.

The fries were as delicious as before, but the burgers no. Needless to say, the ahi tuna sandwich ($10!!) had a tiny piece of tuna on it and is too thick to enjoy as a sandwich.

We were pretty excited when Northside opened, but the model of minimal service is fraying and the quality is diminishing while prices are rising. Might as well go to Cafe 163 or Golden Eagle in Beaver Creek and have great service, yummy food for a little more (but much better quality and larger portions).

One thing to note, their donuts, pastries and coffee are still fabulous, so if you're picking up something to go, it's a great option. No one has donuts like those in the high country! And if there are still some left in the afternoon, you can get three for one and they are still delicious.

“A lot more than coffee.”
Reviewed March 7, 2014 via mobile

What a great find. A little off the beaten path from Beaver Creek Ski Resort, but well worth the trip. Excellent food, diverse menu...I had the chicken fried ribeye and it was delicious...full bar service, house made doughnuts that'll beg you to forget your diet, and wonderful staff. Feels more like home than most resort restaurants. I highly recommend a visit.

“Locals Recommended”
Reviewed March 4, 2014

We were told by a local not to miss this place. You order at the counter and your order is called from the grill. The three of us were very happy with our simple meals. The curried chicken salad sandwich was large and on a fresh bun. My grilled cheese was wonderful, crisp buttery home made bread and gooey cheese. Our companion raved about his breakfast sandwich with eggs and homemade sausage. A large coffee is really the size of a small mixing bowl. Companion also raved about the donuts and pastry he took to go for his snack. They have deals on pastries as the day goes on so you know they begin each morning with fresh. Wish we had a place like this near us.

“Great food-breakfast, lunch and dinner”
Reviewed March 1, 2014

My husband and I eat here several times each time we visit the area. Food has always been good..... Like the new dinner menu. Ordered the Tomato and Leek Tart and it was one of the best things I've ever tasted. My husband's Prime Rib was good (not the best he's ever had but he would order it again). His Waffle and bacon one morning for breakfast was the best!
It can be crowded and sometimes there is a wait for food. Breakfast and Lunch does consist of picking up your food, sliverware etc. but dinner is served by servers. Very nice and affordable. Atmosphere is not comparable to Mountain dining but for good food it is a deal.
