We stayed at the Westin Riverfront Resort in Avon, Colorado for our anniversary - a memorable one. It is truly an exemplary property - great views, food, accommodations, activities and people. When you walk in, the view of Beaver Creek Ski Mountain dominates the lobby. A world-class ski resort, this hotel matches it in convenience and vibe. There is so much to do here: 1.) steps out the door is a gondola which whisks you directly to a ski lift, 2.) the spa feels other-worldly with meditative massage rooms to complete Yoga, full reformer Pilates studio, outdoor (warm) salt-water swimming pool, infinity hot tubs overlooking the Eagle River, a great restaurant - Cima. I would encourage anyone to stay here - and get a mountain-view room. Very romantic and also great for families. You won't regret it

Room Tip: Be sure and get a mountain view room - they even have studio size rooms that have incredible view of...

My husband and I stayed for one night in a Studio Suite room. We booked this room through Priceline and got a great deal for a Friday night. Unfortunately, I was sick, so I didn't get to enjoy all the hotel had to offer. We live only a few hours away and frequent the area to ski, but this time we just tried to relax. The room was beautiful and well equipped. We had a king sized bed and a pull out sofa and gas fireplace. This particular studio had the kitchen area as you enter the room and the bed area is around the corner (more private/isolated than the smaller suites that have the kitchenette in the sleeping area). A dishwasher, microwave, sink and cook top were included as was a nice coffee setup, toaster and dishes. The bathroom had a tub, double vanity and the Westin Heavenly shower head in a huge glass shower enclosure (also had a secondary shower head as well). Marble floors can be cold in Winter, but I feel lent a very modern, clean feel to this room. On their website they claim to have Bliss Spa products in the room, but our room had some generic Westin products that were not particularly exciting (except for the bar of soap that was green and leaf shaped-thought that was interesting). The Westin Heavenly Bed was absolutely wonderful. Very comfortable (and I am used to sleeping on a Tempurpedic mattress, so I am picky about beds) and the sheets so soft and the down/alternative comforter was very cozy. Lots of pillows and neat reading lights above the bed. Our view was of the city and partial mountain view but the huge plate glass window was great for viewing city lights and River view. My husband had a massage at the spa and he was very impressed with the entire spa facility. We dined for breakfast downstairs in the restaurant adjacent to their market looking out to the gondola. Very good Eggs Benedict. Only down fall is the restaurant is small and open to the hall that has doors out to the gondola, so gets a bit chilly in there. We also had room service the night before. The food was very good and prompt and served very warm. The hotel is wonderful with nightly music apre ski and a great kids club room. Unfortunately, they do charge $25 resort fee and $30 for valet parking. You are not allowed to self park unless you stay in the villas (time share properties). Ouch. Otherwise I felt the staff was very attentive to our needs (our room was missing a room service menu and a tv remote!) and were very hospitable. I will be back for another stay-hopefully longer than one night!

Room Tip: They have more than one type of studio suite, so ask if you are reserving a larger one or smaller on...

Not sure why some other reviewers complain about this hotel. People are you never satisfied with what you have!
Anyways let me give a review of the hotel
Check- In : was very fast, our room was not ready yet but the front desk was able to find us a room on a different floor, very friendly and helpful
Room - we took a studio since it was only my husband and I , it was plenty of room, the views were amazing, there is a balcony, a kitchenette (with more than enough supplies), a beautiful fireplace with a good size bathroom (Bathtub on one side and a shower on the other) the room was modernly decorated, and the king bed was the heavenly type and very comfortable, there is also a desk that we didnt use. Near the door there is a hanger for our coats and small area to put our boots and gloves.
Restaurants- we didn't use the restaurant, we had room service on our last night since we were too tired to go out and eat, the food was delicious but more on the expensive side.
Location - The location of the hotel is great, there is steps away a gondola that will take you to the other side and you can take a bus to beaver creek (5 min ride), there is also a starbucks, a burger king, and other restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. There is also a bus stop within walking distance where you can take the bus to Vail Village (it is a 10 minute ride) - make sure you have $4 in change for the bus
Ski Rental - There is a ski rental place inside the hotel just before you get on the gondola, very convenient
Concierge - they were very helpful and were on the spot calling and reserving for us and calling us with the reservations.
Check out - was speedy as well, didn't take more than a few minutes
I would highly recommend this hotel and will be back in the summer :)

Room Tip: All rooms have a good view since the hotel is located between the mountains

Our second stay at Westing Beaver Creek was really nice. We rented a 2 bedroom that was perfect for our family. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom with the heavenly shower and double sink was great. The living room and kitchen area were modern and well laid out. The location is ideal with the gondola steps from the hotel. They store skies and boots and there is a ski shop in the hotel if you want to rent.
Both times I have stayed at this property check in check out were challenging. Check in takes too long and they seem to be challenged to get the rooms cleaned and ready for the next guest. Check out is equally challenging because they are very stingy with late check out. Check out is 11 and they would only give me a 12 check out even though I am a Starwoods Platinum member.

This hotel tries to emulate the "Four Seasons or Ritz Carlton" type of experience but falls far short. During our 6 night stay there was room service trash in the hallway almost the entire time. On one particular day housekeeping took our breakfast plates and put them in the hallway presumably for someone in room service to pick up sometime later.
Most of the calls down to the concierge went unanswered - although when we went downstairs to speak with them they were in fact very helpful.
Very expensive considering the location.
The information received regarding ski access was not the best. The standard line from concierge and the front desk is that to access the main ski area we should walk across the railroad tracks and take the shuttle bus which comes every 30 minutes -- and this week when they came they were usually already full. In reality, the best way to get to the base of the mountain is to take the gondola right outside the hotel to the Beaver Creek landing and there you can get a shuttle bus to the main area which comes every 5 - 10 minutes.
As far as food is concerend the only breakfast place is a small (8 table) pseudo restaurant right next to a take out stand.
No walking access to anything so the location was not the best.... On the VERY positive side the spa was among the best i have ever seen - fantastic massages and amazing facilities.

Room Tip: Dont stay in the studios if you plan on putting your suitcase on the floor and still have room for w...

We had a great weekend here. The hotel is a wonderful blend of modern and cozy. The rooms and common areas have very sleek and clean lines, but the fireplaces everywhere keep it warm. It has the wonderful "heavenly" beds that allow me to get up without a backache.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. A refreshing situation these days.

They did a great job developing the property and making the most of the land they had- for being down in Avon instead of in the village proper. The mountain feel is spot on, the stone is beautiful all over. Great lobby layout as well. Excellent pool and hot tub area, right along the river is quite nice. Trails outside are good for walks. It was quiet while we were there in the fall, but I could see how it would be buzzing (in a good way) during ski season.

The rooms aren't huge, but don't need to be- they're laid out well, and the amenities are very comfortable. Bed is fantastic. TV's were newer and sharp. Bathroom is huge with nice fixtures and amenities. Patio, though, could be a bit larger, especially for the warmer seasons. Was nice to have the dogs along.
