Starting off in the teeth of biting January gales, while house-hunting, we commenced with brandy and cafe con leche to warm up mid-morning and graduated to the fish and chips evenings and steak nights. A lovely atmosphere, obliging staff and good food in Plaza Arteaga, in this friendly Spanish town only 15 minutes from the warm waters of the Mar Menor. Try and be there for the fiesta - sight worth experiencing. This bistro offers all you could want, and also has many other activities which must be of great interest to the casual caller, as well as the indigent British ex-pat population. Ask for Kat - she's a star! (And of course there's always Thomas, also a cat)
