“great area”
Reviewed July 8, 2013

by 13h it looks like a massive invasion from the boats, so it helps to arrive before then. The drive into the park is good fun all around but parts of the track get a bit dusty and bumpy so those of you with low ground clearance may want to think twice.

Real Cretan cuisine!! The food, atmosphere, staff are excellent!!! We ate dakos - it was real dakos, lamb (arni), uvetsi with chicken and feta with tomato in oven. Everything were perfect!! And for dessert you are taking fruits and sweets from big pots.. Come to eat here!!!

“Fascinating and Upmarket”
Reviewed June 29, 2013

Entering the restaurant through what appears to be the end of a very large wine barrel, we found a courtyard strung with vines and overshadowing trees. It was evening and the late sunlight over the fields towards the sea was enchanting. The place was quiet for early June, but the whole of Crete to that point had also been relatively quiet.
The service was good, with wine while we waited along with various nibbles (ubiquitous in Crete).
The meal was adequate in proportion and if I remember we probably ordered too much. It isn't easy to get a good variety in Crete if there are only two of you eating. Everything you order, even greens, seems to come as a meal-sized plateful. The concept of a bit of everything (as per the English) on one plate, still hasn't reached most of Crete.
The food was good and well-cooked and the waiters, if a little formal for Greece, were reasonably attentive.
The place seemed clean, tidy and above all... atmospheric. The evening carried with it a westerly wind that was nicely filtered out by the trees. The light shaded from cerise into blue into stars while we ate. The 8 Euro taxi ride back into Kissamos was worth every cent after the strong local wine, the obligatory piece of cake (made by momma wherever you eat) and the free Raki.
I felt it was somewhere a little bit special. Yes, it was good.

“Superb!”
Reviewed June 21, 2013

We went twice for dinner. What can you say about this place? Better than we expected even after reading the reviews and having expectations raised.
All was spot on. Try the lamb pie with honey - perfect. Portions are massive so one or two starters is enough for 3/4 people depending on size of appetite.
Staff were very friendly and spoke English well to help us through the very extensive menu.
Great location overlooking the sea.
Just go and you will see what I mean.
