La Ferme Manoir Saint Barthelemy
Reviewed May 10, 2011

We traveled to Normandy mid April. I, my wife and two children aged 10 and 17. We stayed 4 nights with Patricia at La Ferme Manoir. We rented the two bedroom suite. Great accommodations, historical, quiet , clean and comfortable. The kids thought it was cool to be staying in “the barn”.
No TV, no distraction. Breakfast was typical European; bread, homemade jams, yogurt, fresh juice, coffee etc. plenty to eat. We ate with the other guests ; my French is pretty weak and their English was about the same but we all had a great time. Patricia translated for all of us. Everyone was very friendly. We opted for the dinner on our last night with Patricia providing a typical Normandy meal. Every aspect was excellent.

The farm is located very close to Bayeux, you have to go see the tapestry. And the D Day beaches are very close. I recommend going to Arromanches, and don’t miss Port de Bessin. Of course Omaha and Utah beaches, Point Du Hoc, St Mere Egliose , and the American cemetery at Normandy are a must see if you are an American. An hour away was Mont St Michel. The Chateau Balleroy (Malcom Forbes estate) is right down the road and don’t miss out on visiting the Abbey around the corner. Driving is easy. GPS gets you there without issue. Patricia will provide maps and guides with specific spots marked out for you. Very helpful.

Highly recommend the area, the sights and especially La Ferme Manoir and Patricia’s hospitality. We would go back there again in a heartbeat and stay with Patricia again.

Wonderul B&B, with a great location just 10 minutes from Bayeux. Easy to find in a charming small town. Patricia is a lovely hostess and very knowledgable about the region, including food, regional products, D-Day info, directions, etc. She was a very kind and gracious hostess. Breakfast of fresh homemade bread, and local preserves and juices was a good way to start the day. Great value.
