“Relaxing vacation at Casa Sombreros”
Reviewed March 5, 2016 for a stay in February 2016

Our vacation at Casa Sombreros was very relaxing. Maria and Raymond, the property managers were very helpful. We really appreciated the tour of Tulum that they gave us on our arrival. Our apartment was basic, clean and had everything we needed. The staff on site took care of our needs promptly and in a friendly manner. We did experience roaches on two occasions, but they were dealt with promptly and did not become an ongoing issue.
Because of the location of Casa Sombreros, bikes were great to have to get to and from the downtown and beach, although there are a couple of very good restaurants within walking distance.
It was great having a pool on site. The pool side area was well maintained and a nice place to meet and visit with other travellers.

AS far as roaches, we spray every few days, We are in the tropics, and when it rains bugs are just like us humans they hunt dry place, We have a can of spray in every one of our rental properties for any such incident.

We manage 40 prime properties, Tulum is a small very new town - The electricity is off of a grid that is very overloaded, We have voltage from 15 volts to 150 volts and if there is an electrical issue, we do switch apartments, The power in the entire city is spirty, in the past several months we have had 10 electric meters melt and we have to wait for the power company to replace them, Mexico is still a 3rd world country, and can go out for several hours, In cases like this we always give the guest an up grade instead of cancelling, This is part of the charm of Tulum,
Remember Tulum is not for everyone, Just 7 years ago there were no rental properties in Tulum. It takes someone with adventure in their blood to enjoy this piece of paradise,
