“Snorkelling the clear waters of gran Cenote”
Reviewed January 1, 2013

This is a great Cenote to visit particularly if you are staying in tulum. We hired bicycles (everyone does) & cycled to the cavern. You can safely leave your bike there. There are also facilities to hire snorkel equipment, get changed and loo facilities. Entrance was quite cheap and the cave was easily accessible. It appeared to be only for Snorkelling, didn't see any divers

“Gran Cenote”
Reviewed December 31, 2012

We got a taxi driver to take us to the Tulum ruins and to the Gran Cenote. He waited at both places and we had him for about 5 hours and he charged us about £30 or $45 This was much better value than the First Choice trips.

“Grand Cenote is a dump”
Reviewed December 27, 2012

Went to the above with 2 friends as reviews were great. It was crowded and no staff were around to watch the jerks taking little turtles out of the water to scare each other with. I have been to far nicer cenotes. The animals they keep behind restaurant had no water and the pens were filty. The water for the ducks and turkeys was green with algae and also dirty.
Someone cannonballed in to the cenote as my friend was snorkeling and nearly landed on her. I think a lot of people leave their brains at home when they travel.
Grand Cenote needs a mahjor clean up.

“Ok but crowded”
Reviewed December 27, 2012

It was a short drive from town, which was nice. But the cost was a little high for the experience. The area above ground is small and the snorkeling areas were crowded. The water was beautiful though.

“A great place to chill”
Reviewed December 25, 2012

A brilliant place to chill and relax after a day in Tulum, particularly if you've been in the sun all day this will give you a chance to cool down and unwind for an hour or two.
