Brief overview of events for a late December trip:
May 2019 - Booking made on booking.com with 50% deposit
December 5, 2019 - Email offering free cancellation due to renovations offered to us. We accepted this offer & provided refund details.
Mid December - Followed up 2-3 times with no response from hotel.
December 26 - After 3 weeks of not receiving funds, I visited the hotel in person to get my money back. Hotel Manager promised funds ‘tomorrow from the accountant’
January 20, 2020 - Phone lines seem disconnected, no responses to email. No hope of getting my $500 deposit back.
AVOID- This hotel is about to go bankrupt
