“Tulum, amazing experience!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 30, 2013 via mobile

we stayed for 1 week in Sitar (one of the cabañas) and for 3 nights in a tent. I have to say that I think it was quite expensive, but then Tulum is an expensive vacation spot. the Astrolodge's vibe is very high, it is an amazing place to be, if you are a little bit more on the hippie side, definitely not your typical all inclusive deal, here... service is not 5 stars, although, but I think that is not what they pride themselves on. enjoy what I think is 1 of the nicest spots, with some of the nicest people, in Tulum!

This is Tulum as it was 20 years ago. Huts made of trees with Open air toilets and showers. No electricity but candles. Many Yoga and meditation friends - all very friendly, as the Uno team. Very good breakfast! Prices 100 to 150 bucks per hut and night. That was much cheaper 20 years ago.

This place is great!!
The beach is 10/10 absolutely perfect... soft white/pinkish sand like babypowder..
breakfast is simple and fills you up just right, not to heavy, not to light.
The atmosphere is 10/10, very laid back and chill, nudity is not an issue.
Perfect place to getaway with that special someone, or perfect place to meet that special someone.
No A/C, No electricity, but it didn't bother me a bit
Cabanas have private showers with warm water
The atmosphere in Tulum is MAGICAL..

1.) Wake up in the morning.
2.) Eat breakfast
3.) Lay out on the beach
4.) Eat dinner
5.) Lay on the beach (watch sunset into the night)
6.) Go to sleep & do it again the next day..

You are not going ti want to do anything else...

Room Tip: Reserve cabana early.

First time i was at UNO it was only the music room and another palapa, they would let people stay and pay what they could, at lunch time there were always vegetarian food and cool people to hang, it was the place in Tulum where you could check the kin of the day according to the mayan calendar.

Now they still have the camping area, but also, very lovely cabanas with included delicious breakfast, wonderful body and mind therapies and an amazing yoga studio. The only thing you do have to consider is they do not take credit cards, so i had to get a massage in the next door hotel.

UNO a place i will so much recommend, although if you are looking for all included type , tv and phone at roomand can not live without electricity, this is not the place for you.

Very nice setting, very ecofriendly (though a bit too enviromental friendly when it comes to the use of toilets). All together, Tulum is Paradise and Uno Astro Lodge is a great way to experience it. The owner is a fun guy, though can be unfocused at times!

I think this lodge is the most unique from all the lodges along the Tulum seaside. It is 100% ecological, the cabanas are simple, but they have this somehting special, with the low beds, the open air bath area, shower, and the unique experience of the toilet, which does not flush, there is no water, you only through leaves in the hole, and every day someone comes to empty it! The food is very good, the staff warm and helpful, the location to die for, excellent for children. No internet, no electricity, only natural sounds, and indeed you feel you are close to heaven!

Room Tip: rooms on the left side of sea front, have the music from the meditation group of the hotel next door...

I actually stayed next door at Shambala Petit (also amazing), but took all my meals, and practiced sitting and yoga (and many other special moments) at Uno. We had music by some of the people staying onsite (there is a community at the back of the resort that are in tents for extended periods of time) three evenings, which was lovely, the pagoda for practicing was perfect. The beach, the sea, the entire feel of the place melds with Uno. I cannot thank the people who run the property enough here for their smiles, their love and care, without being intrusive, or obvious. I completely recharged!
