“One of the best”

We stumbled onto Hidden Worlds driving south from our Villa in Akumal. One of the best things I've EVER done with my kids. The Cenotes are FANTASTIC and the people are just awesome (thx Jimmy). Don't miss Skinny Man. This place is the real deal. You have not done teh Yucatan if you have not seen Hidden Worlds.

5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 7, 2013

started off with the task of fitting into wetsuits followed by a death defying trip in Billy's buggys for a mile or so to a small hole in the ground with a aluminum ladder sticking out beginning of a spectacular cave snorkling experience all 4 of us swimmers were equipt with a million candlepower underwater spotlight.at one point we all turned them off to demonstrate real darkness and being disoreinted.....also park has jungle hiking trails.. zip lines ..,skycycles

“A really good day”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 4, 2013

It's a really good attraction. The rise with the guide its preparing us to world of Maya. They explain to us some plants that we found in the jungle. Yes it's sure that the ride its with a truck a little old and home made but it goes with Mexico al feel the beet of it. Ask for the 3 zones : cycling in the trees, zip line in the water and some other with a lot of heart beat, marvelous cenote. I
You shuold go there without hesitation.

“Fun Excursion !!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 4, 2013

Our guides, Jimmy and Eric, were fantastic! They spoke english well, and stayed with our family the entire time. They were patient and educating. One was always on the receiving end of the zip lines and splash zip lines for our children (even though we were on each end at all times, anyway). Both of our guides have young children, and were relating and careful in working with ours. :)

I recommend the Extreme Adventure package. It includes a cave "rappel" (children are lowered into cave, while adults have control over their own speed), traditional zip line, zip splash line (2 runs), "Avatar" zip coaster (2 runs), and a swim/snorkel in a natural cenote. The cave swim was unique. Neat to see bats flying overhead and tiny fish nipping at us. The Avatar is only suitable for children over 80 lbs, who feel comfortable holding tight while it whips them up and down. Personally, I thought it was awesome. Allocate 2-3 hours for the entire package.

For young children (6 and under), purchase tickets in person. They may waive the fee, as they did for our 4-year old. She could do everything but the zip coaster. And she did the highest zip line tandem with me. For adults and older children, save 10% by pre-purchasing online at: http://www.rainforestadventure.com/hidden_worlds_mexico/

Food at the end was okay. We had a chicken cheese quesadillas. If you have hungry kiddos by the end, the quesadillas taste fantastic! :D Parents, you know what I mean.

The "jeep" ride out and back is rough, no shock absorbers and you'll inhale gas fumes the whole way... but fun for kids. It's not for anyone who is pregnant, prone to back injuries, brittle bones, etc.. But, then, those in these categories wouldn't embark on an extreme adventure anyway.. ;)

Take water, snacks, BUG SPRAY, water shoes (optional), towel (optional), a dry change of clothes, camera. They have free lockers with keys back in the jungle.

Tip your guides!! A couple hundred pesos each goes a long way.

Have fun!!

“The attraction was fabulous, but their transportation service was POOR!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 31, 2012

While in Cancun, my teenage children wanted to go zip lining. I searched the internet and found Hidden Worlds. They advertised that the tour lasted about 3.5 hours and travel time from Cancun was 1.5 hours. This was the biggest seller for me. I figured that we could get back to Cancun in time to enjoy beach activities that afternoon. First, our driver was late picking us up. It was not private transportation, so we had to stop at other hotels for pickups. We did not get to the park until 9:45 am. This was okay, we could still get back to Cancun by 3:00pm. After filling out the paperwork, we discovered that we forgot our bug spray at the hotel. Thank goodness they sell some for $6.00, the mosquitos were bad. By the way, their brand is made from natural ingredients. It does not smell bad and worked all day after just one application even after we got wet. Our guide, Jimmy was great. I told him about our time frame and he sped things up for us. We had a great time. We finished at 12:30pm. this is where I was greatly disappointed. I figured that we could get back to the hotel by 2:00pm, but no. They said that we had to wait for another group who were not scheduled to finish until 2:00pm. That group did not get back until 3:15 pm. Just in time to get back to Cancun at rush hour! We did not reach the hotel until after dark. Our 6 hour activity turned unlit 9.5 hours. I do not recommend using their transportation, otherwise the attraction was just fantastic.
