“Great stay at Playa Kin-Ha”
Reviewed December 15, 2010

After a very bad experience at La Vita è Bella we moved here. What a big difference! This is a nice hotel with very friendly staff. I liked the decoration of the hotel very much (trendy). The room (number 3) was great value for money. Big, light, great oceanview, good balcony, nice bathroom, enough storage possibilities and a good bed. Fine restaurant downstairs and the beach loungers are very comfortable. The beach is a bit narrower here than it was at La Vita, but still great. A taxi to town is 50 pesos and to Grand Cenote 100 pesos. The staff was very friendly, especially Juan.
After the bad experience at La Vita we were quite put off. Thank you for letting forget all of that and that we fully enjoyed the last couple of nights of our great holiday.

This place is a nature paradise, you get here the rest and energy that just a so wonderful and natural place can provide.
The beach and the sea are great, white soft sand and a musical ocean that talks to you!!
The hotel is a little jewel in the middle of the jungle, the staff is friendly and food is a mixed of Mexican and Italian. They can even cook a fresh seafood that is been fished by local fishermen right infront of you!!
On top of all this goodness, the hotel is eco friendly!, so dont expect business center and technology as you will be in the middle of the jungle.

For the second time we traveled in Mexico. Tulum, a gem in the Costa Maya, was a stop that could not be missed. We stayed at Kin-Ha back in 2006 and we loved it. Surprisingly, we found the Hotel was completely renovated ( we were told that a hurricane in 2008 had totally wacked the place) and despite the new and more elegant look, the environment was unchanged. We love eco-travel and we prefer natural/clean Hotels to the most expensive and over-rated Resorts that surround the area.
The room we rented faced the ocean and we witnessed most incredible sun raises as much as we enjoyed the pastel colors of a windy and rainy day. The bed was comfortable and the food ... well ... the food was amazing: we loved the authentic "pastas" just as much as we enjoyed the barbecue ( fresh catches of the day we bought ourselves from some local fisherman that stopped by on the beach with their boats - cannot beat that one.) The staff was very accommodating and patient with my wife's extravagant needs :-D I am looking forward to another week at Kin-Ha as soon as some vacation time materializes.

My husband, mother, and brother in law stayed at playa Kin-Ha for 4 days, and I must say it's been a wonderful experience to stay so close to the beach and to be so in contact with nature!
We have been to the Tulum area two times in the past 5 years, and both times we have stayed at playa Kin-Ha mainly because of its friendly and loyal staff, its excellent beach and overall location, and the wonderful mexican-italian cooking at the little restaurant.
There are about 6 rooms that have been nicely renovated, and they all have either king, queen or full beds, a nice bathroom, and a couple of pieces of furniture like drawers and beautiful little wooden tables in which you can confidently leave your all of your belongings. We stayed at the rooms that have the beach view, and each of these have a spacious terrace with chairs, in which the view is just breathtaking at anytime of the day and night! This is just perfect since you can go to sleep to the sound of the waves, and you'll wake up to see the sunrise through your window! Only a few steps from the beach, so you can go down, swim and float in the gentle waves, sunbath and go back to your room for a nap, or a shower, or simply stay at the restaurant-bar and enjoy fresh fruit drinks, smoothies, or delicious pastas and mexican dishes. And even if you get the other rooms that do not exactly have beach view, you can still hear the waves and be within a few steps from the beach, and the comfortable hammocks in between! Even locals stop by to enjoy the beach, and the menu offered at the restaurant in playa Kin-Ha.
I must say the best for me was at night, specially when there is full moon, since Tulum area in general does not have a lot of big hotels and buildings, there is not too much of artificial light at night and you can appreciate the beauty of the moon illuminating the sea, the white sand, and the cute crabs that wonder at night along the beach! I would have never appreciated how beautiful is this without being in a place like this!
I do recommend you getting a car; we got a rental car from Hertz at the airport, and it is totally the best way to go around, since the roads and highways are excellent, and there are signs for every attraction, hotel, and archeological area. Kin Ha is perfectly located, just a few minutes from Tulum town, which is an excellent relaxing place where you can find a wide variety of places where to eat. Shopping is great too and we just enjoyed so much buying all sorts of souvenirs, and clothing made in the region. A few minutes away from Kin Ha you can find Tulum ruins, and very close in the opposite direction, the natural reserve of Sian Ka'an, which is worth exploring since you can find beautiful beaches that are free of crowd. Kin Ha, and Tulum area in general is the closest too to a couple of the main cenotes, and also on the way to the ruins of Coba. Other places like Xcaret and Playa del Carmen are also within a short drive.
An overall wonderful experience that will make us stay next time at playa Kin Ha! for sure! Oh, and you don't need a fitness center, or a pool when you have the wonderful long white sand caribbean beach to walk, jog, swim and relax!

It's located in the paradise, a white sand beach with ocean front, in an ecological area, so don't expect a pool, AC, TV, and other resort amenities, anyway your mobile will work even the internet connection of my blackberry

But in the other hand, you can see the sunrise from your bed, your balcony is above the beach and just 6 meters away from the caribean sea

Rooms are clean and nice, with a beuatiful decoration, as it is an ecological hotel the room have some vents so you can be cool at night,

The restaurant has a grill and great food, a liitle bit above price average but I think it worths it.

The staff is very kind and service focused

If you love the beach and you can leave behind all your gadgets this is a perfect palce, it's almost paradise
