“Excellent vacation house for a bigger group!”

I just got back from our vacation at Villa Paloma and I would recommend to anyone looking for a quiet stay on the beach. My husband and I, our three adult children, their significant others and two grandchildren ages 18 months and 4 years stayed. The house is spacious and the family of four stayed in the smaller house out front. We had chef services breakfast, lunch and dinner for six of the seven days we were there and that was amazing! Antonio helped us plan the meals and Manuel cooked amazing meals! Much better and more economical than eating out! We actually stopped by Costco on our way from Cancun and picked up snacks and drinks but the chef shopped for everything else! The housekeeper and groundskeeper were very friendly and quietly worked around us daily. Marion, the property manager was extremely helpful in the whole booking and planning process as well as checking on us several times to see if we needed anything. Shel helped us plan a day excursion and made sure we had transportation that we needed. A few minor issues such as the a/c wasn't cooling when we first got there but the a/c in the bedrooms worked great and it was working in the whole house by the second day. The hot water is luke warm at best after you leave it running for a good 5-10 minutes but the second half of our trip the weather was very warm so we didn't really mind. I felt a little bad for the family that stayed in the smaller house because it's really no comparison to the beautiful house we were in, but it was a good place for them to have some privacy. The hot tub isn't a hot tub but more a wading pool, which for us, with the little ones was perfect. They played all day long in the shallow pool! The restaurant next door had a great inexpensive breakfast and a few doors down is a great bar on the beach that serves amazing margaritas! :) The town of Tulum is a little farther than I thought it would be but a ten minute taxi ride was pretty easy to get us there. There are two kayaks that come with the property and the ocean, even though we had rough waters at times, was surprisingly easy to navigate- they were a blast! The beach is rocky so we didn't swim much but I was amazed at all of the beautiful sea shells that was up! My granddaughters loved collecting the shells!
I would recommend this place 100% to anyone looking for a quiet get away!

“Amazing, relaxing week”
Reviewed June 7, 2017 for a stay in June 2017

We spent a week at Villa Paloma with myself, my wife, and 3 daughters (14,11,7). The house is close enough to Tulum to go to town if you want to, but far enough away to avoid crowds. The house and grounds are absolutely incredible, and the staff is wonderful as everyone else has said. We hired the chef service for the week, and I highly recommend this. Sitting by the pool with the sounds of the waves on the beach while enjoying fresh chips and guacamole....it doesn't get any better. The cenote nearby is worth visiting and snorkeling. We really enjoyed the privacy of the house that you can't find at a resort.

“Amazing!”
Reviewed November 2, 2016 for a stay in October 2016

My husband and I stayed here for an incredible week with my 3 daughters(14, 11, 8), my parents and my brother and his fiance. Everyone was so incredibly nice and helpful: Marion, Elder, Ernesto and Yarina were wonderful. Marion gave us wonderful guidance for our stay and you feel like you have always known her! Elder greeted us when we arrived and was very helpful; Ernesto took great care of the grounds and Yarina kept the house very tidy! We loved every minute of our stay. The view just takes your breath away! We were especially grateful to be able to walk about 20 steps to Cielo Maya, a nearby hotel, to take advantage of the bar and restaurant there. Amazing food and service there! This home does not disappoint!

“A perfect house for a holiday with a group of friends or an extended family.”
Reviewed February 23, 2016 for a stay in January 2016

Villa Paloma is everything the pictures showed and more. The host, Marion, was fantastic at looking after us and arranged anything we needed. The house was fantastic value, really comfortable, close to town and yet quiet and away from the crowds. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to go to Tulum.

“Beautiful Villa, Perfect Location, Great Staff”
Reviewed February 16, 2016 for a stay in February 2016

Fantastic villa in a perfect location. Private and quiet on a beautiful protected bay and only 10 minutes from downtown Tulum. Villa is more beautiful and spacious than the pictures show. Located only steps from a great beach bar restaurant (Blue Sky) with great food (pizza and mojitos are great!), the villa offers everything you would want for an outstanding family vacation. It was a great house for five adults and two small children. The bedrooms are huge and it was a treat to wake up to the beautiful sunrises! The separate casita is perfect for guests that may want a little more privacy. The beach is nice but very rocky getting into the water so the kids played in the sand rather than in the water. It's quiet with not many people walking the beach and NO jet skis, boats, or loud music. The dive shop is just a few steps down the beach (and next to another great beach restaurant) and offer a great snorkeling trip for the family as well as scuba dives. Ask the owner of the dive shop to take your family for a boat trip to the Tulum Myan ruins. A beautiful view from the water. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need (we had a chef come and cook dinner three of the nights...great idea) and has a very nice bar area for drinks and appetizers. The pool is big but not heated so the water was almost too cold to swim and it has a huge hot tub attached but it also is not heated. (The ocean was actually warmer than the pool.) There is a huge new supermarket in town with everything you would want including an outstanding selection of liquor and wine.
I can't say enough about Marian, our concierge, she was there to greet us when we arrived and stopped by several times. Our wonderful maid that kept the villa spotless everyday and always made sure we had clean bath and beach towels. Our groundskeeper, Ernesto, kept the grounds and pool deck beautiful. He even climbed the palm trees to get us coconuts and chopped them open for us. Also enjoyed watching the two Iguanas that live under the pool deck near the house. Wifi is available throughout the house and even out at the pool. The only problem we has was no hot water for two days.
Communication with the owner and Marian was fantastic and compared to other villas in the area, Casa Paloma is a bargain. You won't be disappointed. We will definitely try to come back again.

“A slice of heaven”
Reviewed February 14, 2016 for a stay in January 2016

We stayed at Villa Paloma with our 3 children and 2 of their friends (ages 19-24) for a week in January. The location was picturesque and it was wonderful having so much space to relax in, the pool and the beach just footsteps away. The staff makes everything so easy and they are a pleasure to deal with. What really made the week perfect was having Victoria cook all our meals and having all the shopping done for us. We met with Antonio to discuss all of the meals (and we had a variety of food allergy issues to deal with which was no problem whatsoever) and he handled all of the shopping. We did go out for one dinner and the food was not half as good as what we had back at the house. There are 3 bedrooms in the house and there is a separate structure with a bedroom &bathroom that we used as well. The accommodations in the separate structure are not as nice as those in the main house, but definitely adequate and clean. If I had one constructive comment to offer it would be for the owner to upgrade the linens and towels in the house as they seemed a little old and worn. But we had a fantastic stay. Marion was very helpful to deal with leading up to our arrival in terms of coordinating plans and getting information. All in all, a great experience and we would highly recommend a stay at Villa Paloma.

“Fabulous, Comfortable home with fantastic views”

We stayed here to celebrate our children finishing their time at university, our 30 th anniversary, my husband's 60th birthday and the completion of my master's degree. The time with family was so precious in a place this beautiful and comfortable. We felt it was our home. The art, the home design, the stained glass, the pool, the secluded beach made you feel so relaxed, so blessed and totally removed from any concerns.
Then there was the excellent staff, Yani , the home cleaner was lovely, helpful and really the epitome of mexican people; kind, helpful and so nice, Ernesto, the outside man, diligent and efficient and finally Mariane, the French speaking consultant.
My husband is from Quebec but we live in Alberta, Canada so he loves to find some French people. She was so helpful, informative and personable.

There are three bedrooms in the main house, two have views of the, ocean and master baths. The casita has a suite that is private but no view-lovely for teenagers or those who want privacy. The is a beautiful part of the Tulum area. We would come back in a minute. The weather was great but not above 30 degrees in January. The kayaking was lovely. Our daughter, her boyfriend and our son were our every day.
