We just got back from 5 nights in a beachfront bungalow at La Vita e Bella. This hotel was perfect for us - on the best and most beautiful stretch of beach in Tulum, comfortable casual accommodations, and really friendly staff. Our bungalow was right on the beach, and we had our own beach loungers and thatched umbrella in a secluded spot in the beach reserved for us the entire time. We chose to pay extra for A/C because I can't sleep if it is too hot, and honestly, we could have slept just fine without it. The bungalows are very clean and comfortable, and our room was kept spotless daily, along with beautiful towel arrangements and flowers on the bed by the staff. If you require 5 star accommodations, this may not be your cup of tea, but worked beautifully for us. Oh yes, the breakfast was really good, every choice came with fresh fruit and the Mexican breakfast was especially delicious. Every member of the staff was sincerely nice. Hope to return soon!

The rooms are great and the place is very charming. It has an excellent Beach. I would highly recommend this place, but service in the restaurant definitely needs attention.

The other reviews are accurate. The restaurant has great beach views and has good food. Service could definitely be improved. There was one employee named Patricia who simply needs to be replaced. Let me be specific

We asked for water and she sarcastically said the restaurant does not serve water and we are given 2 bottles of water in our room each day. Every other waiter served water with our meal when asked.

When greeted at the front desk, Elena told us we could have coffee around 7:30 am because the restaurant would be making bread for breakfast. When we arrived at the restaurant, Patricia told us the restaurant was not opened and we could not have coffee. After protesting, one of the employees brought us coffee.

We were not allowed to sit at a table or the outside area and had to sit in the hot area and unventilated TV area.

Other days, we asked if we could sit at a table outside. we were told that we could not sit at a table until 8 am when the restaurant opened. Yet other guests that approached from the beach were sitting at tables and not asked to leave. Patricia never greeted anyone with a smile. As a guest you did not feel appreciated or welcome.

Improving the service in the restaurant would make a difference. We had no complaints about Marco who served us at night he was great.

We are writing this review because so many other guests have had the same experience and the owner has not taken action. Correct this problem and this would be an outstanding place.

This place is perfectly located within 5 steps of the beach. Our beachfront bungalow was literally on the beach which was perfect. The beach at Tulum is the best of the area, crystal waters, no rubbish, soft sand, and most importantly - not crowded. This hotel is within the Tulum National Park and therefore it has all been made with natural materials and it is not your typical all inclusive complex (thank God!).

Staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Griselda, who made us feel at home, and the restaurant staff, who kept my food for me overnight when I couldn't finish it, and then reheated it for me the next day and added some fresh rice!

Prices for food in the restaurant are a bit high for the area, but if you just go to Tulum town you can have great food at much more reasonable prices. Having said that, the food on offer was very good, and with a discount if you were a hotel guest.

Every room had reserved sun loungers on the beach which was great, although at no point were all being used.

The water comes from a well that is fed from the sea, so the water is a bit salty - which I was told was going to get better as they were going to fix the water system.

This is a very original hotel, there is sand in the restaurant and in the lobby - so no shoes are necessary in this place.

If you want an all-inclusive holiday with all the amenities, 5 restaurants in the hotel, entertainment, 100s of sun loungers, loud tourists, then stay away and leave this little gem for the rest of us.

I'll just lay it out like this: The beach is amazing, MAGICAL...not crowded whatsoever...you can walk north about 5 minutes and see the ruins (from a distance)...The cabanas are well appointed and only like 20 feet from the ocean. Those 2 things are the only reasons i need to stay here. it's romantic and low-key and stunningly gorgeous...if you require more amenities, well that's when the place starts to go downhill...

The restaurant is just decent, the free breakfast was bland and boring...and for dinner we actually chose to walk 30 secs down the beach to the next hotel and eat their Thai food, which was excellent.

The staff was friendly and they stay outta your way, but i wouldn't call them attentive. it took a while to get a new drink or a check...but i wasn't complaining, we were in no hurry.

Another slight bummer was the running water that smelled of sulfur...kinda gross, but not a deal-breaker.

Again, i was happy to overlook these minor flaws because the beach and the cabanas are PARADISE.

Room Tip: get the cabanas on the beach. worth it for the view.

We spent one week at la Vita e Bella in a beach front bungalow and we loved it.
The surroundings is beautiful and quiet.
All staff is great and always ready to accomodate us, the room cleaned every day with care by the friendly Grizelda ( a great towel artist ),
the restaurant service is friendly and efficient, thanks to Patricia, Jorge, Heyder and all the others.
The quality of the food was very good , it was great to have such great italian food on the beach in Mexico,
the wine also was great and served at the perfect temperature. We had all of our meals there for 7 days.

Everything at the hotel is nicely made of wood, rock and sand, we never saw plastic the whole week, it was very relaxing.

Thank you Marco, your place is beautiful, keep up the good work, we loved our week.

My husband and I stayed at la vita e Bella for 3 nights. We were so excited to stay here, and when we arrived, we were even more excited. The grounds itself are really pretty, but there were some downsides. For example, in the restaurant, the waitstaff often include an automatic tip (10%) even for just 2 people dining. Like the other reviews said, the wait staff was not very courteous or friendly, perhaps because some are from Italy and the others have been trained by them. Also, there is only wifi in the restaurant and not in the rooms. Restaurant prices are slightly steep, although the food is good. In our room, the toilet did not work, so we had to move twice. Also the fan wobbled quite a bit. The room was cleaned very late one day, and I would say in general it is not worth the value for money. We paid 120 dollars per night. Also the breakfast options were not very good, and they were pretty inflexible if you wanted anything changed to the set menu. There were some good points, though. We were upgraded to a beach bungalow when we had to change rooms. It was a very nice well kept facility, and every room had a porch with hammocks. They made swans out of towels every day when the cleaned the room. Beach chairs and towels were included in the price of the room. The staff in general, outside the restaurant, were friendly.
