Everything was fantastic. The place is 5 stars but priced right. The owners were very friendly and not stuffy. They made you feel at home and really cared what you thought. The food was cooked by a chef and priced fair. You can relax and feel safe. We loved the layout and had a swim up room and the landscaping was very tropical. The room was well decorated and a/c was cold not like some of the other resorts. Close to town and all the sites. You'll love it! We will return.

Room Tip: Hardest decision was to decide swim up pool room or jacuzzi second floor.

We spent 4 wonderful days at Mak Nuk. The pace "fitted" us just perfect. The rooms are top notch, the pool is great with access to the private swim ups for the first floor rooms as the one we stayed. The hot tub is fantastic and heated so you can spend hours at it and is conveniently located next to the bar.

Antonio the chef, prepares the most exceptional dishes. The food presentation was outstanding as so was the taste. The first day we went out for dinner to the downtown area, which is quite near Mak Nuk and offers several alternatives. After our fist dinner at Mak Nuk there was no point for us to go out for dinner again. The staff is hard working and Miguel kept our glasses filled during he day.

Being close to downtown has its advantages but it means to be far from the beach. Mak Nuk does have a beach inside the Sian Ka'an biosphere so even though is not really secluded we could still enjoy it at natural with out any problems. The sea may be a little rough but swimable and very refreshing.

You may think that being a small place privacy could be an issue, specially for first timers at a clothing optional venue, but actually it is not. The arrangement and vegetation provides privacy to the rooms including the swim ups in the first floor.

There is free speed internet WiFi around the property which was very convenient.

We will most definitely make Mak Nuk our second home.

Room Tip: Swim ups are fantastic. A building will get more sun during the afternoon, C building will get mor...

A group of us spent a week at Mak nuk and our experience was great. The rooms are exceptional and the pool is amazing. The employees there are hard working and helpful in the extreme. Antonio, in particular, was always there when we needed help with anything. When we ate our meals on site they were well prepared although we did walk to town most nights for dinner there and also cooked in our condo. We took the Muyil/Mayan Canals tour which was arranged by Mak nuk personnel and we were picked up at our door. A great tour by the way. All in all we saw it is an incredible bargain and are very much looking forward to our next visit, which will be as soon as possible. You can believe the photos on the web site. The place is amazing.

In the interest of full disclosure: When we go next I will say that we want to rent a car. The shuttle service provided is good but a bit confining for us. But we like to get out on adventures and want the extra freedom a car would provide. I also have to say that the toilet seats looked as if they may have been made for some other toilets but they were entirely up to their intended task so we were all content on that score. Finally, you can't drink from any of the taps but bottled water is plentiful and the shower water is fine.

Room Tip: The penthouse two bedroom suites are the way to go if you're traveling with friends.

Great "Winter Break" location. Just spent 10 days in March 2014 at a one bedroom villa at clothing optional Mak Nuk Village resort. Large modern unit with private hot tub. Great staff and good food. Walking distance to Tulum village with shopping and restaurants. Only down side is it is not on the beach but they have frequent free shuttles to a nude beach.

Room Tip: Consider taking local bus instead of airport taxi - much cheaper.

Just spent the week there with Exotic Travel and stayed a few more days after. Beautiful resort and my husband and I really enjoyed the beach area. Yes its about a 30 min drive to the beach, but the resort does provide a shuttle service. We rented a car so it was a short drive. The beach is very nice and Mak Nuk does have a rest room on the beach site.

We had a one bedroom with kitchen. Which was great. The resort is within walking distance of Tulum and everywhere we ate in town the food was great. It was very easy to get to the local grocery store for supplies. There are a lot of side trips you can take in Tulum and would recommend you take time to see the Maya ruins. But if you want to just stay at the resort and relax you will enjoy it.

Brand new complex of studio 1or 2 bedroom condos with a/c satelite tv with us channels
Beautiful apts overlooking huge pool with swim up bar and newly opened restaurant
Great staff
Close to town and beach
Clothing optional which was kinda strange at first but after a while it's just another naked person in the pool- no big deal
They also have a beach club
Mike and Chrissy have really created something special here in tulum that blows away any other hotel in the area by leaps and bounds
Give mak nuk a try
