“Lovely day sailing and snorkeling!”
Reviewed July 7, 2014 via mobile

The weather, the boat, and the captain (Fabian) were perfect for our adventure snorkeling and sailing along Tulum's beautiful and secluded beaches. Fabian is an excellent sailor and knowledgable guide. I highly recommend a trip with him during your stay in Tulum!

“Do NOT miss the best thing to do in Tulum”
Reviewed July 3, 2014

We recommend that you take advantage of the best way to see Tulum...from the Ocean; Fabian (the owner) is a seasoned sailor who will take you on what will prove to be one of your better experiences in Tulum, from the Tulum Ruins to the desolate beaches of the Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve. We sailed to the reserve and had the most beautiful beaches to ourselves, stopped at the observation tower to get glorious views of the lagoon and the ocean, and had a few snacks at a local restaurant. This is a great alternative to driving to the reserve or an organized tour (which can take all day, the roads are rough, and we heard first hand stories from fellow travellers about bus break downs and very uncomfortable journeys).

Fabian's accommodating and friendly attitude allowed us to have more fun than should be allowed! His Catamaran was the ideal vessel, both fast and safe. Be forewarned: keep the sun block handy as you will be pleasantly washed by the warm waters, and wear as much SPF clothing to cover yourself as you can. The day we went out, the wind and waters were at the limits, we covered miles in what seemed like minutes. Sadly we did not manage to snorkel (the reefs here looked incredible) as the waters were a bit rough and Fabian would not put us at risk (although we did try to convince him). We would have booked him for several more days if we were able, but again, sadly, the weather did not cooperate.

Fabian also provided us with some fantastic advice regarding local restaurants, and things to do. He convinced us to visit Coba (the highest Mayan ruins in the Yucatan, the only ones you can climb, plus they are in the middle of the jungle – vs. the tourist mecca of Chichen Itza). He directed us to some beautiful cenotes to visit near Coba, and was so gracious to extend an offer to visit his palapa in Coba, where you can zip line across the lagoon and practically land on his doorstep. Through his invitation, we were able to get insight and experience into local community living. We look forward to sailing with him again on our next visit to Tulum, and our only complaint is that we couldn’t spend more time on the water sailing with him.

We will go back to Tulum, and we will sail again with Tulum Sailing Vientos. You should, too.

“Excellent - worth every penny!”
Reviewed April 28, 2014

This was an amazing experience. Fabian was very accommodating and allowed us to decide how long/short we wanted our snorkelling and beach walk experience to be. Fabian took us to places where there were no tourists, and it was wonderful to have such a relaxing time away from the hustle and bustle. This was well worth the money, and I 100% recommend this tour.

“Best day of our trip”
Reviewed April 25, 2014

My husband and I sailed with Fabian day before yesterday and it was the best part of our ten day trip to Tulum. Fabian is an excellent captain (and a great guy!) and took us out to see some truly spectacular views and to do a bit of the best snorkeling we've EVER done! I cannot offer a higher recommendation - this trip is more than worth your time and money!!
