Casa Conote (Cenote Manatee) was like a lagoon...swimming in the open air amongst mangroves. You can go pretty far and its a good choice for swimming. Saw fish and crabs. It was unlike the other (cavern) cenotes we visited (Gran Cenote, Cenote Dzitnup, Cenote Zaci, Dos Ojos).

Dos Ojos was amazing btw.

This is certainly not the most beautiful cenote and the entrance into the pond is a little murky but once in the water it is deliciously fresh and the water feels dense. I felt free swimming with no waves and so much space. It is worth the visit if it is close to the hotel you stay at.

After a hot tour of Tulum, the refreshing waters were wonderful. Not a lot of fish to see snorkeling but it was beautiful. Doesn't go underground, unless you are diving.

Our tour guide added this in for free for us. We hit the place pretty early, around 8:40-ish on a Thursday and there were only us.

The cenote was not the biggest of the three cenotes we visited that day, but by far my favorite. The water is beautiful turquoise shade, and it is a slightly L shape so it's not boring to swim back and forth. We only did snorkeling and even just that was a blast. Spotted tons of different type of birds on the mangroves. If you are a diver, they have the underwater tunnel that you can go through. One of the tunnels go all the way out to the ocean, creating a vortex. You can go across the street where the restaurant is and walk a few feet off of the beach into the ocean, and see the water vortex right in front of you. Pretty amazing!!

Casa Cenote is an "open" denote that is saline, as the ocean is very nearby. There is a nominal entry fee and snorkel equipment to rent. It appears that many tour guides take less experienced divers here. The place does have a swimming hole atmosphere, and there is a small restaurant across the street.
