Description: At Simple we know and respect each ingredient we use, that’s why our menu turns out to be original, simple, and unique. In it we gather the taste of the Pacific, preparing grilled and roasted fish, seafood and vegetables; meat and poultry, cooked in their own juices with the preparation of your choice. We offer portions by the weight designed to be shared (we also offer individual portions), as well as natural and buzzing beverages, in the middle of a cozy atmosphere where you will feel treated just like home. Simple is a family-owned and family-operated restaurant where you will find trust, kindness, happiness, party, music and dancing.

my wife and i truly enjoyed our meal here. it does lack slightly in the amiance catagory when compared to the likes of Hartwood and Casa Banana but the food is FANTASTIC

after ordered our app we walked up to the counter of fish on ice and talked with the waiter about the fishes available. i told him we wanted a little of everything and he took care of the rest. on multiple occasions i was inquiring him about the price (as i only had 200 pesos on me) and with the amount he and i talked about i thought we may go over. But he said multiple times "don't worry, we have very fair prices".....and they truly did

we had what i believe was a bass (amazing) lobster (great) grilled vegetables (amazing) and our favorite the gilled Octopus...we liked it so much after we finished our meal i said to my wife "i don't think we will ever get that flavor again, i don't care how full we are, we need another order of the Octopus" and we did. its a spicy almost blackened charbroiled octopus....so GOOD!

we had one minor complaint about our app as we didn't enjoy the flavor and didn't eat any of it. they quickly took care of it and we didn't have to pay for it.

with all that food plus a few "mock-tails" our total bill came to roughly 85 pesos...for a meal that i would have gladly paid 2x as much.

this place has some of the best food in Tulum. if they could get a better local like Hartwood or Casa Bannan then this would easily be the best restaurant in all of tulum

defiantly GO

As much as we love Mexican food, after 10 days in Mexico we were craving some simple grilled meat & veg. That's exactly what we got & it was truly delicious.
The restaurant is towards the end of the beach hotel strip towards the biosphere entrance so unless you're staying nearby or have a car, you'll prob have to get a cab.
The menu is a clipboard w/ some sheets of paper to flip through and takes a couple minutes to get to grips with, especially if you want fresh fish as it's charged for by weight rather than per dish. Our waiter, William, helped us out and we chose to share half a white bass for 45 pesos per 100g/3 oz which came out to about 200 pesos total for the fish. We chose the citrus / fresh herb marinade and it was sublime but there are spicier options if you want to add a kick. Then we shared a plate of fresh grilled veg that was a perfect accompaniment to the fish (crunchy carrots, zuchini, pepper, squash and onion). William "sold" my wife a cab sauvignon rose (??) that she didn't really want or like but other than that it was all good.
We shared a key lime pie for dessert. It was obviously from frozen which we expected but was still very good and a good way to finish up. The chocolate sauce drizzle on the plate was an odd combo to our taste but we just left it so not an issue.
Oh, in case it wasn't obvious, you can go choose your fish from a display in tn the counter so you know what you're getting and that it's fresh, then they'll fillet in front of you.
Whole meal was $500 including tip so not cheap but was exactly what we wanted.
NOTE; a tip/propiona charge of 15% is already included in the bill so beware. Personally we thought that a bit steep and 10% would have been what we'd have left if given the option.

Best fresh fish and amazing passion fruit margaritas. Wish we could be eating with Ricardo tonight. Beautiful presentation and even a little pool in the back if you feel like taking a dip before dinner.

If you like fresh meat you will love it here. I just had a salad as I wanted something light and the waiters went to buy some bread so I could have some with my salad as they had run out. Hubby had the pork and said it was amazing!

The service and food here was just spectacular. This restaurant wasn't here on our last visit to Tulum but it could possibly now be the best food on the beach-strip.
The tuna tostadas apetiser was out of this world and the red snapper grilled just amazing. The setting is rustic and quaint - like all of the town really but they are really doing something fantastic at Simple. Don't miss for one of your meals while staying here
