Description: At Simple we know and respect each ingredient we use, that’s why our menu turns out to be original, simple, and unique. In it we gather the taste of the Pacific, preparing grilled and roasted fish, seafood and vegetables; meat and poultry, cooked in their own juices with the preparation of your choice. We offer portions by the weight designed to be shared (we also offer individual portions), as well as natural and buzzing beverages, in the middle of a cozy atmosphere where you will feel treated just like home. Simple is a family-owned and family-operated restaurant where you will find trust, kindness, happiness, party, music and dancing.

My sister and I ate here twice during our 1 week stay in Tulum and loved the experience both times. Everything from salad to the fish to the tequila was delicious. Definitely our favorite restaurant in Tulum.

The food here is awesome, everything is fresh and delicious. The owner is super friendly and attentive and he´ll be very pleased to recommend what to eat, great service.
I´d recommend the grilled octopus "a la gallega", simply amazing! The fish was also perfect and we had the piña colada shrimps which were also very good, the grilled asparagus excellent! Ceviches are also great... Everything we tried here was absolutely delicious! Seafood taken to perfection and a great value to the prices.

We know fish, and noticed some fish in the case was not looking their best. But they did have many other great fresh choices there, so we just avoided those. The owner was there greeting & talking to everyone. The waiter was also honest about which fish he would recommend. White tuna was cooked to its perfection. So sweet & melted in our mouth. The chocolate clams were also good, & my husband wished he had ordered more. (I had to remind him that we still had the main course coming.) The tab came out to be about $120 USD including drinks, so it was a bit of a shock, since the menu is only stating the price/mg, and you have no idea how much your fish will weigh when ordering. But the quality is great. So just be prepare when you go there that it's not Tulum price but more like a US price. You will get a wonderful meal there for sure, though.

Thanks for your comments. We are so glad you enjoyed your meal! Regarding the price, we focus on offering value for what our customers pay: good quality, good service, and good atmosphere. Tulum, and moreover the beach area, cannot be considered a cheap destination, as its geographic and infrastructure conditions are harsh. It doesn't have electricity and it is 120 kms. from a major city. This makes it more expensive to be able to carry such fresh products. There are many restaurants in Tulum where you get the same or higher prices and the food is either ok or even bad. It's not us that say it, we've got this feedback from our customers. We've even had customers that once they try our restaurant, they keep coming back and don't want to try any other restaurant, because of the value they get for what they pay. On the other hand, the reason we display fish in a case is precisely so that our customers can see what they will eat and select the way they want it prepared. The most a product stays in the case is 3 days, and we are very strict as to always keep our products on ice, so we've never had any problem regarding freshness, to the contrary, that's what our customers like more about our food: its quality and freshness. Thanks for sharing your experience. We'll be glad to serve you whenever you come back in Tulum!!

Best restaurant we tried during our week long stay. Fresh seafood, excellent service, great drinks & music. Highly, highly recommend. Do not miss this place. By far the best value in a pricy area. Shrimp and white tuna were both excellent; perfectly cooked. The chef/owner was very attentive and friendly. All around a great place!!

But when I went there during the day to make a reservation the the fish in the window had cloudy eyes and the place smelled funky. I could not go back to eat after that smell.

We are sorry that you didn't stay to have dinner in order to have the elements to rate our restaurant objectively. Our fish is always fresh, we always keep it on ice and it never stays in stock for more than 3 days. We are so certain about it that we display all the products we offer to our customers so they can select what they crave more for. We would never display a "cloudy-eyes" fish, as that would be to the detriment of our business. Regarding the smell, as you may know in Tulum there is no sewage, so we need to perform a procedure every week in order to clean our residual waters (as all the restaurants and hotels in Tulum do). It might have been the case that that procedure took place close to the time when you showed up or was taking place elsewhere and the smell reached our restaurant. If you check our reviews, most of them talk about the freshness of our fish and seafood. That is certainly our main focus: give fresh and excellent quality products to our customers, as we know that is the secret for them to come back. We hope you do try our place some other time. We're sure your opinion would be different.
