Description: Moments away from the beautiful beach of Tulum and stunning sian ka'an biosphere, located in the heart of the architectural beauties of a vanished civilization and in the peace of the natural environment of the riviera Maya, arises MamaMuu.The grunge style atmosphere is conceived by respecting the most modern principles of bio-architecture.Wood is a dominant: chairs, tables, counters, pillows. These are all hand-made unique pieces, created with natural and recycled materials such as old doors and pallet. Each single element is realized by local craftsmen, whom respect the upcycled aspect and environment, creating like this a perfect union and a magic and relaxed atmosphere. The delicious local meat and fresh vegetables are the specialty of a simple and tasty cuisine; all plates are accurately prepared on an exposed grill surrounded by colored stones. MamaMuu isn't only a restaurant but also a lounge bar with music, where light rays and colored reflections on old pieces of glass break the wood stiffness, exalting like this the tasting of cocktails artfully created with one of the principle distillates of Mexico: mezcal.

“excellent and very nice”
Reviewed February 27, 2013

I must say that this restaurant is really nice as well as excellent. I went to have dinner with my girlfriend 2 times, and we ate delicious food, from appetizers to meat and fish all cooked on the grill carefully. The guys who run the restaurant are a young Italian couple nice and prepared. The guy (Guido) is also a great bartender, its cocktails are perfect, I recommend "el guapo". The place is located near the beach in Tulum close to other bars and restaurants. I recommend the restaurant at 100%, and in particular lobster "diablo". The restaurant is decorated in such a way as only the Italians can do.(all by candlelight and so romantic). Perfect for couples and friends

“Great Boca Paila Restaurant (9.5 km)”
Reviewed February 26, 2013

The new owners have totally changed the place (including the name) from a so-so restaurant to a one of the best steak places on the Boca Paila strip. People lining up at some of the over rated places on the strip should spend the 50 pesos on a taxi and enjoy the incredible service, drinks and food, at prices that are very reasonable. The bruschetta was authentic and the arrachera steak, the vegetables and dressed potato were cooked to perfection. The new owners have built a comfortable location with an original decor and appropriate background music. Service was not rushed but always attentive.
Definitely a winner and highly recommended.

Excellent, quirky "open-plan" restaurant at the far end of the beach road in Tulum, with excellent food/drink and friendly service.

“Beautiful rustic/ chic restaurant”
Reviewed February 11, 2013

A great new addition to the Tulum beach road... The styling could fill a Pinterest page... lots of inspired details add up to a very beautiful setting. Had two meals there .... both simple but fresh and delicious, everything done on a wood grill with mediterranean flavors. The mezcal mojito was amazing!!! But another big plus is the warm attitude of the owners... they do their utmost to provide a really great experience on all levels.

“Do not miss it!”
Reviewed January 20, 2013

Great atmosphere, friendly and professional service, wonderful location!

This recently opened restaurant is located on Carretera Tulum-Boca Paila, very close to the beach and surrounded by the forest. Owned by a lovely young Italian couple, Mamamuu has an relaxing, stylish and romantic atmosphere at the same time.

They serve meats, fish and vegetables freshly grilled from their wood-fired oven: the best meat I have ever tasted!

I strongly recommend this restaurant. Don't miss it!
