This little place is hard to find. You won’t see it driving by in your car. Find parking near Amansala. Six of us recently had dinner here (1 vegan, 3 vegetarian, 1 pescatarian, 1 carnivore), we all loved it. This is not the place for you if you are in a hurry. The food is made fresh so order some appetizers, relax and enjoy the beautiful candlelit palm trees. We tried quite a few things on the menu, everything was great. We passed around our dishes so we got to try them all. I had the Mayan Curry which I thought was fantastic and a chilled cappuccino made with their homemade coconut milk which was definitely the best coffee I have ever had in Mexico.

Great cute place. Very sympathic owners. Innovative and very tasty food. Even if you are not a vegan you will like it. Very different from many of the touristic places in Tulum.

Our waiter gave the impression he loved the food, loved the atmosphere and loved the fact the Restaurare exists. He was terrific and gave perfect recommendations on the food. The fruit smoothies were amazing, and our salad was delicious! The "ceviche" was fantastic - it's marvelous what can be done with mushrooms. Our main dishes of mole and curry had complex flavors. Very tasty. I can't say enough about the atmosphere -- the restaurant setting is in the jungle...you enter on a path of large rocks that create a sense of mystery...like you are entering something special. And you are. The food experience that awaits you is a sensory one...all around. It can be a challenge to find...it is on the right side of the road within the Sian Ka'an Reserve...in the second stretch of restaurants. You'll understand when you get there. And do get there, especially if vegetarian/vegan fare is what you crave.

Situated next door but one to El Tabano, opposite Hemingway and Amansala. It is so tucked away we walked past it once as it is not clearly visible from the road. We were just about to give up and go somewhere else when we sort of almost tripped over the sign on the floor. Restaurare has about a dozen small wooden tables set amongst trees in a small area of jungle (no roof). The flooring is wooden type squares loosely placed on the ground and stone steps. No lighting or anything, just flame torches, lanterns and candles. The open air kitchen is towards the back. Apparently there are toilets but I wrongly assumed there wouldn't be as it is so rustic. It really is an enchanting set up. We are not a vegetarians but the food was really good, a choice of about 6 starters, main dishes and desserts. The Mayan Curry was especially good. Fresh fruit juices to order in any combination you like. I don't think they have alcoholic drinks, just the heathy stuff!
The co-owner was a really nice guy. We fully intended to return for breakfast (as our hotel served meagre rations) or lunch one day but we ran out of time. Value, bearing in mind the prime location was very good,

We ate here 3 times and each time the food was great. I am not a vegetarian but was very happy with the vegan dishes, mole and curry were great and steamed tofu dish was also very tasty.

i am not sure that this restaurant deserves to be number 1 on trip advisor as there are other excellent restaurants in Tulum

In my experience Altamar Restaurante in Tulum town and the restaurant in Ahau Tulum on the beach are every bit as great.

The setting is on jungle side of the road and the seating area is simple and ecological, the toilets are very clean and have an unusual design but everything here makes you want to come back for the food and service which is really great.
