We didnt stay here in the Cabanas, although I spoke to some of them who were and who raved about it, so personally -I can not comment on staying there.. However, I did stay in Tulum, a 10 min drive and came to Zebra every day, eat and drank and soaked up the sun.. Say Hola to Was definetely good enough for me to think I would write about them on Trip Advisor. You can use the sun loungers here for free (some of the other hotels along this stretch of coastline charge) Zebra know theyre definetely onto a good thing.. Chilled out music plays as you chill out on their patch of the beach.. The sea is a little choppy but clear and blue, and the sand is clean white. Loved it!!!

This is the most amazing place we have ever stayed. Beautiful, tranquil beach, lovely beach hut, wonderful food all served up in a great, relaxed atmosphere. After a simple breakfast every morning, we would spend the day lounging by the beach, stopping only for a a light lunch (la zapata sandwich is great) and a cold beer. At night the bar comes alive thanks mainly to the fantastically charismatic barman, Chaing, who serves the best (and possibly strongest) cocktails in the world. The food was great, especially the Sunday night barbeque and daily shrimp...We didn't want to leave.

As soon as we stepped out of the car and walked to check in we were in love with this place. I've stayed in Tulum before, but this was something else. The beach at La Zebra is perfect. The cabanas are wonderfully cozy and ours, Number 2, just steps from the beach. It's a strange mix of modern....safes in the rooms, wireless internet, 24 hr electricity (not common on the beach road) and rustic...no phones, tv's, clocks or radios. You have to laugh at the contrast. The staff here is unbeatable. Jiri and the rest of the front desk staff are very attentive, going out of their way to make sure everything is just right for you. We were pleased to find Roberto, the bartender, serving fresh squeezed drinks, try the La Zebra Margarita or his Mai Tai and the most delicious food. Be sure to meet Chain too. All the guys in the bar are terrific to get to know. There is no reason to go anywhere else when you stay here. We are definately going back!!!

OH MY GOD!! If I had to describe paradise in one word , it would be La Zebra's. In an idyllic setting, this small resort of just 9 cabanas was beautiful. Situated right on the beach - to the extent that the first step out of the cabana was straight onto soft white sand...The staff were very friendly, always ordering taxi's and giving us advice on where was good to go to eat. We stayed here for 4 nights and loved every minute of it. It was very quiet and chilled, and after 3 nights partying in Playa Del Carmen - was perfect for lazying around and catching a lovely tan on the beach. The beach itself was spotless and pretty much empty for 2 miles either way except for us (and one man sunbathing naked but that was just funny and added to the ambience!!) The sea was warm, calm and clean...and the whole place just looked like a postcard. I would 100% recommend this hotel to anyone - couples & friends wanting to chill for a few days...absolutely amazing.. you must do the salsa lessons - absolutely hilarious and go for dinner at Mezzanine on the cliff top - they do a great thai. However the food in La Zebras was amazing and we ate there at some point every day - go for a visit, you wont be disappointed

Having gone into quite a few hotels in Tulum this by far was the best - (we had had a reservation at Ana & Jose which we promptly cancelled because of the building work) and in fact what a result that was. Zebra had so much character and so much more diversity. The cabanas were a touch on the small side but were ideal for what you needed - I loved the shower room with the mosaic basin. Great touches like a bag for your beach towel and a botlle of water in it - also candles to light. The beach was gorgeous as were the sun loungers (thick mattresses!) The food aswell was some of the best we had - breakfasts were delicious as were all our dinners and the restaurant was rustic and you really felt like you were in Mexico. Salsa night was particularly great. Although it may bit a bit further down the beach - to be honest who cares? You have everything you need at Zebra!
