“LOVE THIS PLACE!!!”
Reviewed December 18, 2013

First of all: you need to know where are you going. It is nothing like a fancy restaurant in the beach. Rather, it is a small cabin in inside a palm trees forest by the sea. No drinking water, nor the facilities you should expect in a decent place; in addition to that, the access to the restaurant is quite complex (not a regular road). Even though with these inconveniences, it is worth to try. I confirm that the kitchen and that the chef were clean enough to trust the meal. First we were seated in a table in front of the beach, but it started to rain, so we went inside the cabin, betweem the kitchen and the sink that a couple of women were using to clean the dishes. There is no menu: they only have a few dishes. We order a whole fish and a shrimps. SUPERB! Even though the fish was fried (which is not my favorite version) it was AMAZING! Super tasty, and the crispy layer was very subtle. Something impossible to find in the States. And the shrimps were super fresh and tasty. In addition, they offer us for free a few pieces of a kind of small lobster to try... so regret I didn't order a whole dish of it. It was so good! Taking the advantage of speaking Spanish, we had a great conversation with the family that owns the restaurant. They were super nice with us, and we tip them accordingly (even though it is not mandatory ot do in Mexico). The price of the meal, something like $25 (including three beers)...what else? I am fan of this place: I WILL COME BACK FOR SURE!

“Great food with a remarkable beach view”
Reviewed December 14, 2013

I've heard about this restaurant through people I met at the place I was staying. The location is amazing: the southern end of a very quiet beach. You can't believe there is a restaurant there. Food is great (way above many expensive restaurants along Tulum Playa & Pueblo). If you go there (about 15 min from Tulum) you absolutely need to order the lobster ceviche with fried fish.

“Hidden Gem!”
Reviewed November 23, 2013

Local dive instructor /owner of Ko'ox Dive Centre in Tulum,Chucho, put us onto this place and we're sure glad he did. You'd never know it existed and was an adventure to find - ignore the nondescript gateway and sign that declares it is private property no entry. Just mention the word seviche and you'll be directed on thru.
Ramshackle huts, personal laundry dangling from lines, no running water, outdoor cooking fire, tables on the beach under palms, white sandy beach for miles. A real local ambience which suited us just fine!
Seviche was huge and very tasty, we shared 1 plate between two. Beer was icy cold. Not cheap, but not expensive. A very pleasant late lunch, well worth a visit.

“Can't beat Chamico's”
Reviewed November 13, 2013

We have been vacationing on Soliman Bay for the last eight years and have been going to Chamico's since they started. The food, people and location are fantastic. It's not expensive and well worth it. On our 10 day stay on Soliman Bay I lost track how many times we ate there. Don't miss it!

“No running water to wash hands.”
Reviewed September 1, 2013

We went looking for a nice and clean place to have lunch after we read about it.
As we arrived we took a metal table and a plastic chair to start ou visit. The view is incredible since the place belongs to a rich person and he is only the caretakerof the lot and at the same time he makes more cash. We found no bathrooms which was a very bad bad sign, where are they washing their own hands? Not to mention other questions we had.
So we had a beer and took off.
