“Delicious, cheap and full of locals”
Reviewed May 5, 2014 via mobile

We visited Tulum as part of our honeymoon, and wanted somewhere really tasty to have dinner on our last night in Mexico. The owner of the hotel we were staying at recommended this restaurant, as did a taxi driver that we got a lift with (he couldn't praise it enough!), so after seeing good reviews on here too we decided it sounded like a good bet.

We weren't disappointed. While the decor is definitely 'no frills', the food was fantastic and couldn't have been any fresher. The were lots of locals eating there too, as well as a handful of tourists, which we always class as a good sign.

We ordered a small plate of shrimp ceviche to share (which was a very generous portion), with beers, then my husband had the coconut shrimp as a main and I had the deep fried whole fish. Both tasted fantastic and we left there feeling full, satisfied and only a little lighter in the pocket as the whole thing was very reasonably priced. Definitely not one to miss!

“Best ceviche ever, great value, local seafood”
Reviewed May 2, 2014

I had the mixed ceviche. It was one of the best seafood meals I have ever had. It was packed with Mexicans and foreigners several times that we drove by. 3/4 of us had upset stomachs, but we had a massive dose of seafood that we were not used to. Also had the Sopa de Mariscos (seafood soup). It was very different taste, look and ingredients than any soup that I have had before, with crab, fish, mussels. That was a new experience for me. Great value, with pricing at a local level. Our daughter does not like seafood, so she did not have a great time but my 8 year old son loved the raw octopus in the ceviche.

“Very Nice Local Food and Cheap”
Reviewed April 27, 2014

Nice familiar place in Tulum, always crowed and you will stay in a line waiting you turn.
The specialty is seafood.
I suggest fishes or shrimps fried.

“Great local seafood!!”
Reviewed April 27, 2014

My family and I were looking for a local seafood place to eat. We were driving around the vicinity of Akumal and decided to ask a Taxi driver about a good place where we could eat like a local and at reasonable prices. He asked if we wouldn't mind a 20 minute drive to Tulum and pointed us to that direction. (No way you'll miss it since it is along the same highway that runs from Cancun to Tulum. We had a feast. The service was great and it was pretty cheap compared to what you may expect to pay in a seafood restaurant in Cancun. No AC though but a few cold beers will make you forget about the weather.
