What a wonderful hotel. Low-key, quiet, custom-made to be relaxing. Delicious and healthy food, a great beach, and a wonderful location. Plus, the staff are all, each and every one, friendly, warm and accommodating. Also, the cat!

Room Tip: Beach access rooms are the way to go!

Only used the beach club, but the overall hotel grounds and restaurant looked very lovely and inviting. It occupies a prime and tranquil spot on a long stretch of powdery white sand. Despite the massive alage bloom/seaweed surge in the water, I was able to find a few relatively unspoiled spots to wade and swim in (thought they too had disappeared later in the afternoon). There actually wasn't as much of a buildup of seaweed on their part of the coastline like I had seen elsewhere in Tulum, which was nice. Service was prompt, friendly, and professional. They have an extensive drink and food menu and the best part of all was that there was no charge whatsoever (monetary nor food/drink minimums) to use their beach loungers for non-hotel guests. Weren't the most comfortable loungers (maybe it was just mine?) but they also had bali-type beds as well lined up closer to the water. Regradless, I found Villa Las Estrellas absolutely enchanting, peaceful, and would definitely go back again. It's a small place and there aren't more than 20 or so loungers/beds so it's first come, first served. They take credit cards.

We were staying in a hotel on the other side of the road from Las Estrellas where there was no sea breeze or air con - so in the mornings we were desperate to get to the beach on the other side of the road.

Las Estrellas were SO friendly and welcoming, we would go over in the morning and have (really tasty) Huevos Rancheros for breakfast and use the beach. We had table service on the beach and would order drinks throughout the day.

We were also there for the first day of their 'Brunch Buffet' which was delicious and the chefs were so knowledgable about the food on offer.

We used Villa Estrellas several times to access the beach and have lunch. The new owners have bought a new menu and everything we tried was really good. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Good sun loungers and a nice atmosphere

Have been many times in past few years
However, now, I am told, under new ownership
When Simone was owner had friendly, very efficient staff
Italian menu was excellent
Now:
Good news: if want typical tulum health food ambiance, you will enjoy. Although service is not even poor
Bad news: if looking for Simone’s personal touch and gourmet Italian menu, that ship has sailed

I rated 2 because I could not rate 21/2. Zero for today’s villa and 5 for Simone’s. So, 5+0=5, divide by 2=21/2
The 21/2 is me being nice
