On arriving we were shown our room- this had a palapas roof and i am allergic to mosquitos there was debris on the bed and i started to get a sinking feeling. However after a little negotiation and explaining our feelings. We were offered an alternative room for a fair price- and an upgrade and therfore spent the next four nights waking up to the sound and scenery of the ocean.
The rooms were kept very clean and the staff always very friendly. Our room was lovely. We were offered beach towels and there are sun loungers on the beach.
I don't think breakfast was very good with only two options for the inclusive part. So we forgo-ed that to get our upgrade.
Tulum was quite quiet and we went elsewhere for food just to find some more life and ambience in the evening. Hip Hotel is on a lovely part of the beach although closer to the quiet end if you are looking for life - life is a 60 peso ride away normally.
I did feel that although it is paradise it relies on the situation of the hotel. Other hotels provided a little more for guests and a beach bar with service would have been a bonus. A little injection of romance/fun could make this place a perfect hideaway.More
