Absolutely beautiful site. Enjoyed a very informative tour. Would go again to marvel at each building on the site and to swim in the Caribbean Sea at my own pace. Vendors at the gate were a bit annoying but authentic quesadilla from a local vendor were delicious.

When you have a really good guide like the one we had from Fun & Sun Tours you really enjoy the day and appreciate the fantastic abilities of the Mayans back in the day!! - Tour Guide was Angel de Jesus
Very amazing insight to how they lived, how they constructed, what they used etc!! It was they culminated in seeing the constructions still standing.
make sure you buy a piece of obsidian before you leave.
on another note we were asked to pay 5 euros to take pictures inside - only a few paid this but everyone was taking pictures inside.

To know that so much went on in a place of such natural beauty, it is really breathtakingly gorgeous there, I would heavily recommend a visit!

Visiting the Mayan Ruins was interesting. The walk was a bit, but you could queue up for a shuttle ride. Of course don't leave your HAT - no shade from the Sun - huge and harmless iguanas everywhere....Also, you can go for a swim in the sea on the Caribbean side.

We caught a taxi from our resort to the ruins and toured it by ourselves. The ruins are interesting and the beach at the ruins is beautiful. Bring your suits so you can cool off at the beach as walking around the ruins can be very hot. Be sure to bring water as it takes a while to get through the ruins.
