These ruins are very impressive. It is easy to see why the Mayans chose this location for one of their busiest seaport villages. The main beach in the complex was closed but the stairs to the smaller beach were open and you can easily swim there. The way they have it arranged with the tunnel entrance/exists on either side adds to the mystery and romance of the place. Linger as long as you need at the ruins taking in the history and then hike south to El Paraiso beach and enjoy the beach bars and scenery.
