We drove back to this part of Tulum from our cabana (about 10 minutes further down the road) to have dinner at Luna Maya after seeing the paella and gazpacho on the menu- very unique for Tulum. We split the gazpacho and the seafood paella for dinner. I love gazpacho and am always looking to try someone else's. It was so delicious we were scraping the bowl with the bread to get all of it up. Instead of chunky, it was pureed really smooth and came with chopped onions, green and red peppers, and cucumber to top. Next, we shared the seafood paella (made for 2 and still only $165 pesos). It was so fragrant and flavorful. The seafood additions (calamari, octopus, shrimp) were generous and cooked perfectly. Again, we scraped the dish clean! We finished up with bananas flambe. Good, but wouldn't order it again. It was too dark to see the beach but I could hear the waves. Bad mosquito problem, but the restaurant gave us bug spray. We will be back for another serving of gazpacho and paella on our next trip.
