Secret Garden is a nice and relaxing place to stay in Tulum town. The garden is beautiful and great care went into it, we can see! Our room (#3) had a comfortable bed but more space to hang and shelve clothes would be better. Also, the window curtains should be thicker to block sunlight since sunrise was pretty early (around 6 am). Near the reception area, there is water to refill your bottles as well as snacks and bananas. Antonio and Joshua were very friendly and a great source of information for the area.

The hotel is located 2 blocks away from the main street with all the restaurants, shops, service. Very near the ADO bus station! From Cancun Airport, a bus to Tulum costs us 160 pesos ($13). To get to the beach, you can either catch a taxi or just rent a bike (80 pesos).

Myself and my girlfriend arrived in Tulum on our first visit to Mexico. We were greeted warmly by Josh and his team and the stay was superb from start to finish. Hidden a block off the main street, the hotel itself feels like a relaxing retreat, with individual straw huts and hammocks. Josh's assistance throughout the stay was invaluable, with his knowledge of the surrounding area very thorough and certainly enhanced our stay. Overall a very good experience, and we look forward to returning as soon as we can.

I stayed there 2 years ago and I liked it a lot so I decided to go again this year. I went with a friend who hasn't been to Mexico before. We stayed 2 nights and loved it. My friend was so impressed and we passed our time in the hammocs in the garden. It's beautiful, quiet, the only thing you hear are birds singing and how can that be annoying?! Once in a hammoc you will fall asleep peacefully. Staff is very friendly and helpful. You will feel more than a friend as a random guest. You have water, tea, coffe, fruits and WIFI for free. You get also beach-towels. We stayed in Room 3 which is spacious and nice with 2 beds. You are directly in the city of tulum, you have everything nearby... restaurants, bars, pharmacy, internet, shops, etc. I would recommend everyone to go to this beautiful place as it has its very own charm!

We had a great time in Tulum & at the Secret Garden. We found the location really handy for exploring attractions nearby and preferred being closer to the main town rather than isolated out with the other hotels.

The rooms were spacious and very comfortable, courtesy tea, coffee and water was a nice touch and the staff were always friendly and very helpful with advise.
Looking forward to going back next time we are in Mexico!

I stayed in Secret Garden on late October 2012. It was really amazing hospitality we had. The room was super clean and quiet. There was even little speaker in the room so I could be more relaxed with my songs while I was staying in the room. Very cozy and comfortable for a traveler like us who traveled more than a year. We could also get a nice and soft beach towel every time we went to the lovely beach. The only thing I regret was there was no refrigerator in the room. When we come back from the beach we could take a public bus which just pass almost in front of the hotel so it was very convenient.

Whilst it's not on the beach, it is located in a quiet area very close to the main strip with lots of restaurants nearby. The staff are lovely, very helpful and happy to have a chat and listen to your stories. The rooms are really nice - great beds, clean bathrooms with great showers, nice towels and it was great to have a kitchenette. I would certainly recommend getting a room with air con, Tulum is hot and humid! Tulum is a great town, the ruins are worth a visit, the beaches are beautiful and make the trip to the beach further north to see turtles. I would certainly stay again and would recommend it to friends.
