Prior to our visit I read some reviews and was pleasantly surprised to find that Casa Banana far exceeded our expectations. We spend nine days at Nueva Vida de Ramiro and enjoyed breakfast each day at the restaurant. For a Midwesterner in the depth of winter nothing beats fresh fruit and a warm loaf of bread for breakfast on vacation. We ate dinner at Casa Banana several evenings. The highlight of my meals was a honey and habanero glazed shrimp skewer. The seasoning was perfect. My wife loved the duck and said it was the best she's had. Casa Banana also has a great wine selection for such a remot location. One of the most memorable experiences on the final night of our stay was when the waiter asked if my wife and I would like a second bottle of wine. We did, of course. When the waiter returned he brought the wine, two glasses and a bucket of ice and reminded us that it was a full moon and that we would probably enjoy it more on the deck of our ocean front cababa. A really nice and thoughtful touch.
