Description: Located across the beach road from Nueva Vida is Casa Banana Steakhouse, a Tulum dining hot spot. Serving up classic Argentinian style cuisine, the food here is simple, fresh and delicious. For breakfast each morning enjoy made to order coffee, homemade banana bread, and pineapple coconut jam. At night the restraurant gets busy and comes alive with it’s outdoor grill, known as “parilla,” and dishes are cooked over the open fire for all to see. The menu favorites include grilled to perfection steak, fresh caught fish, impressive salads, and a thoughtfully selected wine list. Don’t forget to try the handshaken icy margaritas, too.Open daily breakfast, lunch and dinner. We provide beach service for all guests of the hotel.

Couldn't get in, so ended up having drinks out on the road. Still, a fun experience. Otherwise, no help.

I only had lunch here....and definitely didn't like the menu. The service was very slow. Food not great....understand dinner is much better.

The breakfast was OK. We had heard great things, but we didn't see it. Service was really slow. We had one small roll for the four of us - to go along with eggs. And, i had to ask for butter and jam. Butter finally came - no jam. Lots of flies.

Tasteful rustic decor, comfortable chairs, Casa Banana boasts a wood fire oven and grill that burns all day long, baking sweet panes in the morning, and roasting whole fish and new potatoes in the evening. "Continental breakfast" that was complimentary for those of us lucky enough to stay across the street at Nueva Vida de Ramiro, was anything but continental. Each morning from 7:30 we were greeted with a smile, fresh espresso, fresh panes with butter and jam, and a gorgeous plate of fresh sliced tropical fruit. Chef Hermando is enthusiastic and just as gracious as the rest of the staff, who told us that he loves to look out (from the windowed kitchen or from the grill) to see pleasure on peoples' faces- and I'm sure my eyes were closed in ecstacy at least once during the first meal! He says 'The grill is my wife' :)

Try the beet salad first, whatever you do. You have never had a beet like this. Lobster is expensive, even by New York standards, but prepared in a unique way... Roasted fish is delicious, everything was prepared perfectly, presentation was off the hook!

If you are staying at Nueva Vida, you will also have the opportunity to order food or drinks delivered to you on the beach, or to your room.
