Review of Mezzanine Bar

Mezzanine Bar
Ranked #3 of 13 Nightlife in Tulum

Attraction details
Owner description: Sip on locally inspired, signature cocktails, shaken, stirred and muddled by our talented team of Cantinero’s. Lounge on bean bags and listen to the toe tapping smooth grooves and world beats that Mezzanine is famous for. Watch the action on Tulum’s vast white sand beach under billowing shade sails from the privacy of the expansive patio or secluded sundeck. Get a bit silly enjoying the 2x1 afternoon margarita specials. Each Thursday night Mezzanine is transformed into 1940's Cuba with live band playing Cuban Rhythms on the deck and Cuban dance show... Classic Rums and Cigars are the order of the night.

“Bit of a shame.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 7, 2013

Beautiful location. This place is situated on one of the prettiest beaches in all of Tulum. We came in and dropped our jaw at how pretty it was. What we found extremely disappointing was the service by three of the people that were at the bar. While we took a look at the menu, the host clearly was talking about us to the woman and man behind the bar. The both of them shared a laugh at our dispense and then continued a conversation about us under their breath. It made us both uncomfortable but satisfied with the menu we placed an order for drinks. Upon placing my order the female behind the bar rolled her eyes and then continued to speak about us both. It was just a bit of an off start to the night. We were happily saved as we got a table upstairs (away from the bar and the nasty three) and received fine service and delicious food upstairs at the Thai restaurant. The service we received from our waiter there made up for the poor sense of service down at the bar. Just a shame the boys upstairs are forced to make up for their co-workers lack of professionalism.

“Did not stay here but loved the bar”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 29, 2011

On an excursion with friends to Tulum we found the Mezzanine Hotel and stopped for drinks. They have a great deck overlooking the beach and ocean and we had a wonderful happy hour experience with our waiter, "Lucky".

We will definitely consider staying there for our next trip to the Yucatan.

“party under the stars...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 5, 2010

we heard about the friday party from friends so my boyfriend and i said we'd give it ago..

party started with a soul singer singing while we dined in the beautiful restaurant and there was a great buzz about the night getting started,

after dinner the dj then started playing and everyone got up to dance before we knew it the place was packed it was hard to believe it was the same hotel we chilled at earlier on in the day sipping on margarita's listening to chill music!!

there was amazin performers that did a show ill never forget with capoeira and fire and stilts we could not take our eyes off!

we danced until the dj stopped playing and the crowd cheered and cheered for more and had an absolutly unforgettable night dancing under the stars with lots of great people!!cant wait for next year we will definitly be going back its a very special and unique ibiza inspired party!!

“Best party in Tulum!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 2, 2009

My wife and I went to Mezzanine specifically for the Friday night party. Wow, we were not disappointed! Since it was our honeymoon dinner, we had the best table in the place and were served quickly. The food was decent, but I'm not a big Thai fan anyway.

The music started with a percussion/drum circle which lent a very tribal feel to the crowd. that lasted about 45 mins and it got people out of their chairs and dancing.

The crowd grew steadily until the place was packed. They had a DJ spinning some of the best house music I've heard (and I've heard alot!) Eventually, the whole property, from the restaurant, along the stairs, down to the pool, was packed with dancing and drinking.

Alex, the manager, was taking good care of us the entire evening. We left around 12:30am and there was huge line to get in! that night really made our honeymoon unforgettable. Check out these pics....
