“Small but great”
Reviewed January 7, 2014

Ate for the first time at Azafran Restaurant in Tulum,Mexico. We had a breakfast that rivals any place I have been. The "Hangover" breakfast is amazing. Homemade rye toast, fresh eggs, specially made sausages, bacon and mashed potatoes that are amazing. Together with organic coffee (refills free) and freshly squeezed orange juice. A beautiful garden atmosphere and high quality food. They also sell their own deli meats like smoked salami, smoked turkey and many more. They are open for breakfast and lunch(try the many kinds of bagels) only. Don't miss it.

“Azafran - a place with a soul”
Reviewed December 7, 2013

A Canadian friend of mine took me to this restaurant, and then I kept going back by myself. Mika, the owner is lovely, she has a smile and a nice word to everyone, and if you need information she will be more then happy to help. The breakfast is the best in Tulum, you really get good value for what you pay. The coffee is refilled as many times as you want. And the place is clean. Go there and experience this little magical place for yourself.

“The most consistent restaurant in Tulum”
Reviewed November 6, 2013

In a way it's hard to compare Azafran to most of the other places in Tulum, but the one thing to be said is it is the most consistent place in the entire town. Nothing but the very best ingredients, and the care and focus used in delivering their food is clear. Milli and Rene are genuinely GOOD PEOPLE....
The breakfast options are hard to choose from. but My favorite is the "Deli". Roast beef, Spanish ham, house cured salmon, pate, brie, olives and butter with German rye made in house. I can't think of a better way to start the day, unless you have the "Texan", Homemade bagel with eggs, roast beef, bacon. Like I saids it's hard to choose.

Literally felt like I was at a friends house who makes me delicious breakfast. Amazing friendly service, yum coffee and a great filling big breakfast for really good value. Only wish that we went there again
