Description: Our dishes are prepares meticulusly as our grandma used to make it. We choose the best ingredients to prepare genuine "mole" sauce in a metate stone (like from prehispanic times), to make sure get to the traditional recipes. Making our mermelade, bread, butter and many more. The best culinary experience in the autentic traditional mexican cuisine.

Whatever you do, do not miss Cetli when you come to Tulum. A friend of ours recommended this beautiful little restaurant to us a couple of years ago and we just tried it out last night. We eat in Tulum all the time and have many favorites and this one just got added to the top of our list. It is on a back street in Tulum and you would never guess the oasis that is behind it's walls when you walk up. The setting is beautiful and the art is amazing. Another person reviewed that there is no atmosphere...that couldn't be further from the truth. If you love amazing dining experiences, enjoy food that is made with passion, then you will love Cetli. The owner and chef, Claudia, came out of the kitchen and explained her different types of mole to us personally. You can see how much she loves to handcraft a meal using time honored traditions. The food was an absolute treat and we savored each bite. Don't miss Cetli, it is incredible.

While on an Eco-adventure tour with the great people from Casa de las Olas. One of the dinners on the trip was Cetli. I must say after an exciting tour of caves and cenotes and whale watching I was totally blown away by this culinary gem. The food was by far the most tasty, delicious ,and awe inspiring experience I ever had. The molè sauce, 5 different kinds, were all exceptional while the chicken and pork was mouth watering! It was the first time that I left no room for dessert . Everything on menu is great. Can get sauce to go. It is worth every peso

I'm partial to chef-owned and -managed restaurants; I feel they deserve patronage--not for everyday eating maybe, but for those special occasions or when you're just tired of the crass commercialism around you and the stench of cheap alcohol and mass tourism. We've had our fill of Mexican fare but Cetli dared to push the limits and opened our minds and palates to the wonderful possibilities of Mexican cuisine. Cetli comes recommended in the Rough Guide, so we decided to give it a try. Chef Claudia was trained in some of the best places in the country, so for a treat, and for something different, we really searched for this place as it was easy to fall into any one of those restaurants along the main strip of Tulum. It was worth it. Agreed it is expensive relative to others, but quality, attention to detail and care come at a price. It is all relative anyway. For us family of 4, the bill ran to around 70 USD for 3 entrees and 5 fruit drinks. (Try the mint in-house drink). The cheese plate in the beginning was already worth a 4th entree. It was worth the smiles from everyone and satisfaction in the belly. The kitchen can be viewed from the patio/garage so you can appreciate the chef working on your meal. She did greet us in the beginning and in the end, so all in all it was a pleasant experience.

Of about 9 restaurants during our two weeks in mexico, this was my absolute favorite. If you appreciate gourmet cooking and authentic mexican cousine this is a fine pick. We had two main dishes and a dessert, it was nice to see hearty vegetarian options on the menue and we loved them. The complementary entree was also delicious. We arrived rather early (7pm) and were alone throughout our entire dinner, but I did not mind at all as we were on our honeymoon and it was quite romantic. Although not on the cheap side, I cannot say how much I savored our meal. Note: Bring mexican pesos since they do not accept credits cards (as most restaurants in Tulum).

Just gorgeous little restaurant that has the most magnificent homemade food. We all loved it! This place is a home with parts of the home made into a restaurant. ( I think we were sitting in the garage!) just gorgeous and a must to see and eat at whilst visiting Tulum town. Magnificent!!
