“Unforgettable and magical...”
Reviewed September 20, 2011

If you feel adventurous and want to experience the best time of your life, then Tulum with Manzano's is a must. Just spent a great week in Tulum but the tours with our knowledgeable, friendly, and fun guides, Manu and Vanessa, were definitely the highlight of the holiday. We went snorkeling in Yal-ku lagoon where we saw hundreds of colorful fish, sea urchins, anemones, and we even got to see a colorful squid. Little I knew that it was nothing compared to what came after. The mind-blowing Santa Cruz cenote is out of this world. Whilst snorkling in a cenote can be scary and exciting at the same time, I always felt very safe with our guides. We also went to Dos Ojos, another cenote where you can snorkle into a bat cave, which is a lot of fun and adventurous. I will definitely return for some more!

“Amazing Tour!”
Reviewed May 16, 2011

My husband and I recently travelled to Tulum and booked a tour through Manzano Expeditions. When inquiring about the tour they were very quick to repspond to emails, which was great since we only booked our trip to Mexico a few days before we left. It is a bit pricey, especially since alot of the places we went to were relatively close to our resort. However, in the end having a knowledable tour guide to show you the area, and not worrying about getting to each location was worth the premium. We particularly liked the idea of being able to do a custom tour exclusive to the two of us (no waiting on other people, big tour groups or buses, etc.) Our tour guide was Manuel and not only was he super friendly, but he was very knowledable and funny too. The day was absolutely perfect! We visited the Tulum ruins (gorgeous!), cenote Esconido (which is an absolutely spectacular cenote! I almost don't want to mention it and let out the secret since when we went it was only the 2 of us there and a few local Mexican children jumping off a cliff into the cenote. We opted for this cenote as we wanted something not packed with tourists and a little more private. Definately scored on this one. The cenote is in the middle of a jungle, crystal clear water, with a cliff to jump off). Next we went to Akamal bay to snorkel as I LOVE sea turtles. We snorkeled for about an 1 hr and 1/2 with no turtle in site as Manuel apologized saying that he was so sorry we didn't see any turtles. He said we would circle back one more time through the turtle grass and then head back in one last attempt. Sure enough- as we were almost back to the shore Manuel spotted a huge sea turtle! He was just hanging out and eating the grass. We stayed there for about 15-20 minutes just watching him eat and swim to the surface for air. It was an incredible experience that I will never forget. I was very surprised, the turtle didn't get scared and swim away. It was definately the highlight of the trip!

Also wanted to mentioned that my expensive digital underwater camera broke in the cenote and Manuel was so nice to take us to a dive shop upon arriving in Akamal and ask one of the employees to take a look at my camera. He was able to fix the O ring and fingers crossed he said we should be able to get the camera serviced since it only leaked in freshwater and not salt.

I highly recommend them for a perfect day in RIviera Maya! :)

“Priceless tours”
Reviewed May 1, 2011

A group of us just came back from Tulum and had to write and share about our experience.
Manuel and Vanessa out did themselves on providing us with 2 very different fun, exciting, safe custom made tours that left us wanting to see more. They went out of their way to teach us about the culture, share their enthusiasm for the history and love of country. We were impressed with their passion for finding and sharing hidden gems like private centotes, rappelling, tortillas 101, lunch with a group of local Mayan women and tours of some of the ruins like Ek Balam ..all provided by local knowledgable people ..We can honestly and sincerely rate them a 10 ..The prices are comparable with other operators but the value you receive is not... We had used 2 other tour groups that we had selected from this website..the first one failed miserably on all levels... The second was not much better... We left tulum with a feeling of sadness but look forward to returning in the future.. Their love of country , compassion for people and appreciation of nature is apparent in the level of commitment that they personally provide on each tour.. You will not be disappointed.

“Intelligent, authentic and funny adventure... skip the boxed tours”
Reviewed April 30, 2011

My husband, myself and our two children spent the day with Manuel-- our guide, interpreter, zoologist and historian--snorkeling, spelunking, zip lining and monkey tracking. All very successfully. With Manuel's expert guidance, we found the sea turtles and howler and spider monkeys we had hoped to encounter. Manzano's, specifically Manuel, was willing to organize any combination of activities we desired. We opted for the above. A bonus, we casually dined on great authentic Mexican food. Manuel is patient, amusing and amazingly knowledgable. Manzano's is a MUST if you prefer experiencing the real Yucatan and the Mayan culture without the noisy crowds. Oh, the ride is an air conditioned van, nice.

“Another fantastic tour”
Reviewed April 16, 2011

In April, 2011, three of us spent a day with Manual touring the Xel-Ha ruins and cave-diving in the Santa Cruz cave area. This is our second tour in the last two years with Manual and he continued to amaze us with his knowledge and facts of the area. The tours are personalized, informative and fun! If you want to get off the beaten path, learn scientific and cultural facts about the area while given opportunities to experience activities such as snorkeling, cave-diving, and rappelling away from the crowds, this is the guy! Manual was very patient about a date mix-up and gave us a tour on his birthday (not our scheduled day). I can't stress enough how differnt, personal, educational and enjoyable a day is with Manual. Highly recommend him and will go back for a 3rd tour, if in the area.
