“An unforgettable experience”

Excellent staff, perfect location, amazing atmosphere. We stayed for five nights with my wife and we were very happy with everything. The cabins are quite simple but very cozy and clean, according to the environment. Everyone was very friendly and polite. I've never known any other hotel owner so helpful and nice as Nati, she's awesome. and so was Fede.
Thanks for all your help and for making our holiday a fantastic experience!
A perfect economical choice for those seeking a unique and relaxed (but clean and safe) place to stay on the beach in Tulum. This beautiful place has everything you need.

We got the best time at Playa Mambo. Great hosts, Federico is a master cook, never ate such good fish. Natalia is hospitable, sweet and always joyful.

I highly recommend to go to Playa Mambo before Tulum gets more touristy. It's one of the few untouched fabulous location in the world.

The main problem I had was to go away, back home. I do have a great home, great view, but today, my first day back, everything looks gray. I wanna be back to Playa Mambo and sip a Piña Colada (the cheapest in the strip, by the way)!

Room Tip: Go there, enjoy. Get a beach cottage, it's worth every buck.

This is a beautiful spot; peaceful, calm and clean.
The new owners are wonderful and were extremely kind. The place is quiet and offers clean, immaculate rooms in a rustic setting, allowing nature to be the main focus. I stayed in one of the ocean front cabanas and absolutely loved it. I have been to Tulum many times and in my opinion this is exactly how it should feel.

We had an outstanding time there, amazing well located place in the most beautiful sight.
The cabanas are very comfortable and lovely, making us wake up and have paradise right accross the door.
Federico and Natalia are the great and warmest hosts. They've provided a personalized service (with awesome food) not only with things related to the Cabanas but also suggesting places and activites, turning our experience even more perfect.

I STRONGLY RECOMEND PLAYA MAMBO.

Thank you guys!!! We are very grateful for the 4 days we spent. We will definitely come back, lol!!

Room Tip: The Orange Cabana is the best one, perfect view to the ocean.

We were walking and eating our way down the beach one evening, during happy hour. This was our first stop, more out of sheer hunger than anything. There wasn't much on the menu, so we had the fish ceviche with & beers for 2, for $190 pesos.
This is up off the beach, so there was no breeze & it was a bit warm and the mosquitoes started biting. It is under shade, and the setting is very pretty.
The gal serving & preparing the food was really nice. The ceviche was good and the beer was cold.
It was worth it, and would eat here again.

This was my third time in Tulum, and while we really enjoyed Playa Mambo, I'm not sure we'd stay again. The good: It's an excellent value, and, in my opinion, the best location in Tulum. You're on the prettier southern end of the beach, but still have plenty of great bars and restaurants within easy walking distance. The hotels surrounding us were easily twice as expensive, so if you're on a bit of a budget, this is a great choice. The beach is absolutely stunning, and the beach chairs had nice cushions and umbrellas. Breakfast is included and was really good, and though there's not really a bar or restaurant on the property, the owner will cook lunch or dinner if you ask. We had lunch one day and it was great.
We stayed in cabana verde (orange and the penthouse also face the ocean), and it was exactly as described--- a large hut with concrete floors and a decent bed around 50 feet from the ocean. There's a little market right next door where you can buy beer or snacks, and we loved sitting on the patio at the end of the day or laying around in the hammock.
That said, some small improvements could go a really long way at this hotel. Firstly, the rooms have no a/c and no fans. Except for the last night when it rained and was quite cool out, we were boiling hot at night, even with the windows open. Also a foot shower or even a bucket of water on the front porch would have been nice, as we were tracking sand into our cabana constantly. The water pressure in the shower is barely enough to wet your hair, it's really just a trickle of water that comes out. The beach towels provided are quite small and I think they were only changed once in the week we stayed, so I'd bring a few of your own. And there are no toiletries provided, so make sure to really stock up on things before your trip. Also the owner speaks very little English, and it would have been nice if there was maybe a book or something of restaurant/activity suggestions in the area for guests to go through. Even having been to Tulum several times, we felt a bit out to sea at first--- she basically showed us the room and we were left on our own.
That said, we had an incredibly relaxing trip and enjoyed the hotel overall. For someone looking for an authentic and rustic hotel on a beautiful beach, this would be the perfect place.

Room Tip: Ask for orange, green, or the penthouse, they face the ocean and are worth the extra money.

The cabanas are situated right on the beach, and have plenty of beach chairs to lay on. The location is the best. We stayed in the Fuchsia room, which was actually much bigger than it looked on the photos. Shower worked well and the musquito net did its work. However it was very hot in the room, even with the fan inside the musquito net it was terribly hot. There is also no cupboard in the room to unpack your clothes. Every day our room got cleaned, which was great and necessary since you walk in a lot of sand. On the last day we had 2 cockroaches in the room.. The breakfast is perfect, and you can choose where you want to eat it which is nice.

Overall we had a great stay here, Tulum is beautifull!
