“Unspoiled Paradise”

Just returned home from an amazing trip to Tulum. As I am still in the moment I wanted to write about my stay at Casa de las Olas. If you are looking to spend time peacefully and in the most beautiful natural habitat this is the place for you. Gorgeous beach, fantastic close to nature experience. The guest house feels like home and waking up each day to the sound of the breaking waves is amazing. Lots of fantastic cafes and restaurants close by. Private, secluded, and wonderful guest house with a fantastic host whose restaurant and excursion recommendations are spot on. Will definately return again.

This is not a resort with all the 'amenities'. If that is what you want stay elsewhere. If you want an amazing private beach and a beautiful house that is completely relaxing and personal then this is the place for you. Jimmy and his staff are incredible. Jimmy knows all the best places to go (and the places to avoid). I can't say enough positive about this place or the people. The waves breaking on the shore will ring in my ears for a long time to come and bring back the wonderful memories of unwinding under the coconut trees.

Just returned from a wonderful stay at Casa de las Olas. Had discovered it on the internet and decided to try it based on TripAdvisor reviews. I was not disappointed! What a wonderful place. So many good things to say about the place that its hard to know where to start. Very private, relaxing, and beautiful setting - right on the water - with views of the water from every room. Pristine, very private beach. Next to a nature preserve so there is very little activity - just a few folks that occasionally walk the beach. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and immaculate. And the rooms are very functional and clean.

If you're looking for a big resort with a lot of bells and whistles this isn't your place. But if you're looking for beauty, relaxation, and personal service that can't be beat then you should go here. Jimmy and his staff make you feel like family and will tend to your every need.

We stayed in the Junior Suite, which is the only room which doesn't have a kitchenette. But it was not a problem for us. There is a small fridge where we kept juices, yogurts, and breakfast items. And we had a car that we used to drive short distances along the beach and into town (20 minutes) to some great restaurants. Food was not a problem! The room has a great view, from your bed, of the water and the sunrise. The other rooms are larger with kitchenettes but the Junior Suite is just fine.

Olas generates its own power and collects rainwater for use but it was never an issue for us. And the Wi-Fi service was very good. This place is a hidden treasure if you're looking for a relaxing getaway. Our experience was top notch!

What a magical spot Casa de las Olas is. Having spent 9 glorious days in Tulum we couldn't have found a more tranquil and restful spot. We stayed in the Master Suite and it was like having all the comforts of home. Mari & Antonio were attentive to our needs and Jimmy, our host, made sure that were well fed, giving us tips of all the best spots in Tulum. (Jimmy even included us for Thanksgiving dinner at Heartwood, the best restaurant here.) The beach was perfection...miles of white sand and blue water. The casa is the last house before you enter the Sian Kahn ensuring that it is peaceful and you are undisturbed. If you want a relaxing holiday, stay here and not down the street in one of the big resorts. There are not enough words to express our gratitude!

There's no better place to stay in Tulum! Unless, of course, if you are one of those people that like to be in the middle of all the hipster action, which you can find just down the street. I prefer Casa de las Olas, a true home away from home! I love the peacefulness of being there "away from it all", and I love the fact that our room had a fridge, coffee press, and stove. Coffee in bed with spectacular private views, and a cold beer at the end of the day. I did cook too, but Tulum has so many great restaurants my cooking could not compare. Casa de las Olas' rooms are clean, have great storage to unpack, and fresh flowers to remind us that life is special everyday. There's so much to do in the area: swimming in cenotes, mayan ruins galore, jungle tours, great restaurants, but this beach is so beautiful, you really don't want to leave. I've stayed here with my boyfriend, and for a girls vacation and loved it.

Room Tip: I've stayed in two different rooms, and they were both great!

Casa de las Olas is a GEM in Tulum! Located on a secluded beach front, this is the last property before entering the Reserve. The owner, Jimmy, is hands down one of the best hosts you can have. He'll be instrumental in showing you the local amazing place to eat (and take you there)and ensure you have the best Tulum experience. This is a very special place and staying here will ensure a memorable experience for sure. I can't wait to get back here!

Room Tip: If you are a family, you can easily share the Suite with 2 beds.

Right next to the biosphere so this really is the most "get away from it all" location in tulum. that being said, make sure you have a car so you can drive around town and the other hotels/bars if you aren't planning to just veg.
the beach is AMAZING in front and the landscaping of the property is great.
the best part about our stay was the host-super sweet and always there to provide personalized tips!

Room Tip: It really depends if you want to cook. If you don't want to cook, the suite with no kitchen is...
