Smaller, family-run feel to this hotel in the midst of larger resort places. All rooms are close to the beach. Food is very good. Excellent musical entertainment is provided many evenings by the outdoor bar by the beach. The staff is friendly and efficient. The grounds and rooms are clean and tidy.
Our 1st trip was in February. 2nd was in August. It's hot in August! But if you get some shade on the beach and dip in now and again, you'll be fine. Beach is good for resting/hanging out however on some days the jet-ski traffic from hotels on either side was disturbing in terms of noise and bad fuel odors. Would be nice if this was moved further away from the shore. Swimming, inside the limits marked by buoys, is better a short walk north or south. 5mins.
20mins and 150-200MXP from the town which is fun for shopping, bars and restaurants.

Room Tip: The hotel has a main building with typical rooms some of which have sea views. And there are some standalone bungalows which are more roomy. Some of these have sea views and some are situated in beautifully landscaped garden areas.

Been there. Coming back. Bringing family and friends next time. Food, service, beach and staff superb. The beach massage was terrific for my wife and I. The daily lunch was very good on the beach and drinks delicious. The daily serving of chips with pico de gaio and garlic cream sauce was totally addictive!

Have been here many times over the past 8 years. Love the bungalows--rustic and quaint; hotel rooms are nice too. Staff are excellent--funny, friendly, helpful. Very peaceful and relaxing. Definitely will return, like so many other Petit Lafitte guests.

Stayed here three nights with wife and granddaughters. Although we liked the beach bungalow, one downside is the you need to walk through powdery sand every time you leave the room which can become bothersome in spite of the foot bath on the front porch. However, the bungalow was quiet after dinner clean-up (our bungalow was located in close proximity to the dining area and the noise could be annoying at times.
Our package included two meals, breakfast and dinner, each day. The format and food selection as well as the food service was very good.
This is a good place for families as opposed to being a party atmosphere where everyone feels they must have a drink in their hand every waking hour.
One downside is that you cannot walk to any shopping and/or dining from the facility and since we did not have a car, this was a minus.
As with the neighboring properties, security is a big issue and these folks seemed to have it covered pretty well.
If returning, I would investigate staying in a room in the hotel portion of the facility as opposed tp the beach bungalow.
Front desk very helpful in arranging outside activities, for example, we booked a snorkeling adventure with them. All of the staff was courteous and helpful.

Dear timothym931,

Cheers to you, wife and granddaughters!
Thank you for choosing us. We’re glad that you likes us and only found little issues like the feel of sand on your feet and the clean up work noise after dinner in the dining room.
About the sand…we will have to leave it like it is as most people love to have their feet touch the sand and be in contact with the Earth, but we respect your preference. You are right the perfect solution is that you stay in the building section, that has cement paths between gardens. The noise, well, it is kind of unavoidable, fortunately dinner ends at 9:30 or 10:00 pm, so the noise doesn’t last too long.
We’re glad you got to go snorkeling and enjoyed it, as well as the service and food of Petit Lafitte.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience with other readers and we hope you grace us with a second visit!!

Kind Regards,

Iván Fuentes
