First impression of room when we arrived was nice. We had a larger kitchenette room #105. Very simple and clean. Nice bathroom. No problem with hot water. Large patio with hammock which is so relaxing in the evening for a mid-day siesta. Simple continental breakfast served at your requested time everyday is nice touch. Every day towels folded in shape of different sea creatures or animals on bed was amusing. Hotel beach is ok. Go to mamaitas beach for more fun and swimming. A lot of boats in front. Water is very shallow so you can walk out really far, which is cool. Clubs right next door, but with doors closed and a/c on, you don't notice it. Relaxing on your balcony can be a challenge because the hotel is skinny and balconies close together so you hear people right next to you and there can be a lot of foot traffic. I guess I notice more since we were on the first floor. Very friendly staff.

loved everything except taking cold showers, Breakfast was included and delivered to the room balcany. I loved that. Free use of beach loungers. I will probably return. The clubs for the young are very close but the music at night was not a problem at all

I stayed at Playa Palms for 5 nights in November. The hotel is perfectly situated on the beach, but very close to the main street with shops and restaurants. The room was decorated in a lovely Mexican style, the bathroom looked very good and we had a hammock on the terrace - a nice touch. They bring breakfast to your room every morning at the desired time, which is the nicest way to start the day. Some things to take into account: the room has indeed a particular smell, probably because there's no sun, we had to buy a freshner to tone it down; if you want to sleep with the door to the balcony open you will surely hear the noise from the nearby clubs. There are indeed boats marooned on the beach but if you walk a bit down the beach or in the water, you can easily swim. Otherwise, the hotel is great value for money!

Room Tip: Always take a room at a higher floor for sea view

My wife and I stayed the week of Thanksgiving this year. We stayed in room 303, which wasn't the biggest or nicest room, but it served the purpose. Carlos helped us set up a few different excursions, and was a pleasure to work with. We felt like we were close enough to all of the action, yet far enough away at the same time. I would recommend a message on the beach, and a day of deep sea fishing with Captain Favio. Carlos set that up through the owner of the boats, Clemente, and we had a great day! We will be back!

This hotel provides everything needed to unwind from the rest of the world and make the most of Playa. The location is steps from the beach as well as 5th avenue, and walking distance from the Cozumel Ferry Pier. Its decor, service level, staff and amenities are far above the price point - great value and an unforgettable stay.

Room Tip: The view from 303 is unbelievable for breakfast on the balcony every morning.

Playa Palms was very clean, comfortable and the service is outstanding. Very cute boutique feel right on the beach. The very friendly Concierge, Carlos, was amazing and booked us a great snorkel excursion and an unforgettable tour to Chichen Itza. He booked massages for us on our first day and was just always there to help and provide great recommendations. They bring breakfast to your balcony every morning which is the perfect way to start your day in the beautiful Playa Del Carmen. I would definitely stay at Playa Palms again...they helped make our honeymoon perfect and memorable.

Stayed here twice and really enjoyed both times. Can't beat the excellent location right on the beach, and 2 blocks away from 5th avenue for shopping, restaurants, nightlife. The pool is more of a dipping pool than it is for any true swimming. Rooms are well appointed and very casita style. daily breakfast delivered right to your room is a true treat to wake up to. Can't wait to return.

Room Tip: Avoid booking rooms near the front office noise.
