The hotel is really small but comfortable, it has everything you need. I loved it and the staff are really nice and they help you out with all you can need.
It is also really close to all the night life's most popular places. The only thing is we were 3 guests and there was only 1 bed in the room,so I don't really recommend it to more than 2 persons per room.
And my favorite thing about it was the breakfast in your personal balcony. It's just lovely.
I think it's an excellent place for couples

Perfect hotel if youre looking to experience all playa has to offer... white sand / crystal clear beach front property, pool, and just steps from beach bars and downtown playa. We went out along 5th Ave every night and the walk was very busy with tourists and well lit.. The hotel doesnt have a restaurant but the kitchenette was perfect and there are lots of options as far as restaurants near by. Tons of activities and things to do in the area. The balcony hammock was a nice touch after a busy yet relaxing day. Overall, excellent value and would love to go back :)

Loved staying here for one night before we headed out to the airport. Will definitely stay longer next time. Great, helpful staff, well-decorated rooms with great windows that block all of the noise from the very hip, very happening 5th Avenue a couple blocks away.

Delightful.

Room Tip: All rooms are good - first floor made it easy to go to pool and beach.

My second time in Playa, there are no 5 star hotels to beat this one. The atmosphere, the uniqueness and the individuality of this hotel is just amazing.

You are right at the beach, the center of the nightlife, and do not worry, even though the 3 main clubs are just next door, once your windows are closed, you are off to a great sleep.

Luis and Carlos are just awesome, anytime of the day we were greeted with a smile and a welcome. Nothing was a trouble and just you great five star customer service, housekeepers, cleaners, front desk, they all out to make you feel good.

Great location 3 minutes walk to the best playa and one street off Quinta Avenida (main street). I could stay in Playa for weeks and not get bored. This is by far the best hotel.

Having your breakfast delivered everyday for free, at the time you want, however you want its just unheard in Mexico or any other place these days.

Thanks Carlos and Luis for your hospitality, I will be back :)

Room Tip: Go the extra mile and get yourself a ocean view room, you will no regret. Plus if there are children...

We stayed at Playa Palms for 5 nights and loved it from the moment we arrived. We wanted to be right on the beach with a short walk to the heart of 5th Ave. in Playa del Carmen for shopping and restaurants. Since we'd already spent a wad over the course of 2 weeks prior at two exclusive resorts, our stay here enabled us to be a bit more conservative. For example, the little kitchen enabled us to mix our own drinks. The staff loaned us a small ice chest to store the bag of ice we purchased at a nearby OXXO market, although the small fridge in the room was adequate for beer and food items. We took a short walk up to Mega to purchase fruit and other food items, so we added some fruit to the breakfast that was delivered to our balcony each morning promptly at the time we chose, and some peanut butter on the croissants was a yummy addition too. Eating our breakfast on the balcony with that view of the Caribbean was a memory we will long treasure. On a practical note, at Mega we were also able to buy a roll of duct tape to repair the suitcase the airlines thrashed so it would hold together for the flight home. Plus we took note of El Fogon, a busy restaurant across the street from Mega which proved to be our favorite eating place, well worth the wait for a table. The 70 minute massage on the beach for $25 next to the hotel was wonderful. As for the staff at Playa Palms, we'd like to thank Joel who assisted us with check in and got us the ice chest and some paper towels for dishes. Then the next day, Dahlia, a friendly and helpful maid, kindly brought me a sponge and a towel to drain the dishes. Carlos too deserves commendation because he is a wealth of information about nearby places to see and arranged for the taxi ride back to the airport. And then Luis, many thanks to him, for seeing to it that my toiletries bag that I left in the room, was given to a friend, also staying at the hotel, who brought it back to me. I didn't mention it to the hotel staff (they might have been able to accommodate me), but since I like a flatter pillow than the ones on the bed, I simply removed the pillowcase from one of the pillows and used it on one of the small pillows on the couch. I also should note that the bed was a bit small as we are used to a king. However, overall, we feel our stay here at Playa Palms Beach Hotel was affordable perfection in tropical paradise.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 202 (north side, 2nd floor) which had a lovely view of the beach. However bed was...

Good location, right on the beach and just one block away from 5th Ave , where everything happens. We had room 301 , probably one of the best in the hotel. The room is spacious, tastefully designed and furnished ,with cable TV (which I always appreciate), and a huge balcony with hammock and chaise longs, where they serve breakfast. The view from the balcony was so amazing, that we almost didn't want to go on the beach anymore. Some other rooms though, might have a privacy issue, their balconies were too close to each other. Also, the fishing boats on the beach right in front of the hotel are making the water a little uninviting.
Service was good and friendly, but I would recommend the front desk to be better informed and be able to give basic information, like the bus schedule to the airport.

Room Tip: Room 301 offers a great view and more privacy.

I just returned from a three night stay at Playa Palms, and it was wonderful. The room was affordable and offered the boutique hotel experience. The location is excellent. Yes, some big dance clubs are nearby and they are open very late, but we couldn't hear any of it inside the room. Only a bit from the balcony which didn't bother me at all. It is very easy to walk from the hotel to the surrounding restaurants, shops and nightlife.

The beach was nice, though be prepared for boats to be docked in front of the hotel. It wasn't a problem for us, however. Just find some space to walk/swim past them and head further out. It stayed fairly shallow for awhile. Massage and food/drinks are available on the beach.

Service was great, and the staff was very friendly. Take advantage of the breakfast on the balcony. A great perk.
