Owner description: El Camaleon made golf history in 2007 when it became the home of the OHL Classic at Mayakoba, the first PGA Tour event to ever be contested outside of the United States and Canada. Designed by legendary Australian Golfer Greg Norman, El Camaleon boasts an amazing layout featuring three different ecosystems: tropical Mayan jungle, mangrove forest and the Caribbean Sea coastline.

Nice course to play and to PGA standard. Remember that the quoted green fees generally include transport to and from hotel.
staff were extremely helpful in taking care of everything
The 2 par three's that play up to the beach are very attractive holes.

I played the course during a recent stay at a nearby resort. The course organised a shuttle to collect me and drop me back after my round. I was paired with a 'local' ie a real gentleman Canadian who owned a condo nearby. We both enjoyed a course in tip top condition, all of the staff that we met gave us excellent service. The green fee is not the cheapest, but in my opinion, worth every cent.

The PGA tour is here. For sure their big claim to fame. Holes are pretty boring. Very tight. As a 10 handicap I'm probably loosing 6-8 balls a round. Hit it wayward and it's gonzo in the mangroves. Greens roll very true. Service in the pro shop and back shop is very good. Practice area is outstanding. If you are looking for a really good, scenic course in Mexico check out Punta Mita.

The PGA plays here and so should you. The course is challenging and beautiful. Be sure to look around and enjoy the wild life, the scenery, and the beautiful lay out of the course. I have played here a dozen times in the last four years and the course has always been very well maintained.

Unbelievably gorgeous. Best golf course out there for SURE. The others we went to had recently airated the greens and were not nearly as enjoyable, though they did have interesting wildlife.
